Hey guys!

The wait has finally ended and i received my saber yesterday afternoon! B)

This saber has been everything i ever wanted from a beginner level stand point.

Later this month I will be upgrading the saber to have a 12w+ deep blue LED and Nano Bc V3 sound board, so stay tuned for updates!

Let me run down the Pros and Cons:

Pros:

- The color is very bright and deep even for the 6w+, The blade irl doesnt have the white core but that is to be expected.

- The hilt itself is very sturdy and well built, it has a great wight to it.

- the blade is heavier then expected, I need to get used to the weight when i swing with one hand.

- Haven't been able to test the blades in combat because my friends' sabers haven't come yet.

Cons:

- When the blade is in the hilt, no matter how tight I screw the retention screw in, there is a slight wobble to the blade the gets annoying.

- The AAA Batteries are very powerful for the first 2 hours, but the next day (today) i saw that i was needing to already replace them.

- I did not order a cover-tech wheel, but they put one on there anyway. (PS I need help cus I dont know what bit i need to remove it)

Pictures!

That's so pretty! I really like the spear extension too.

Re: blade rattle, is definitely the blade? Does anything rattle when the blade is removed?

The advice I've seen on here is that some tape wrapped around the bottom of the blade, up to the line of the blade holder can help make it a snigger fit.

I'd be careful about digging the screw too far into the blade.

Yeah its definitely the blade, I waved it around with out and with it in the emitter. And im not screwing it in too much.

Will try the tape tho, thanks for the advice.

Any idea on how to remove the Cover-tech wheel?

Really nice saber you got there, that deep blue looks great. May I ask what blade length you got? I hear the 37 inch tends to wobble but if you are using the 32 than that shouldn't be.

I wouldn't recommend but you could unscrew the LED with your allen key and push it down deeper in the saber, it might give you more room for the blade. I did something similar to my Arbiter, however I pushed it higher so the blade plug would fit better. The LED is the hole underneath the hole for the blade btw.

Also if you wish to remove the knob it should get loose on its own and fall off, as that is how I lost mine. Otherwise I would recommend just using your allen key if you have no other tools, just use it at an angle in the center piece of the knob.
look at those cool glowy stabby things.

According to the Saberforge accessory page: http://saberforge.com/accessories/covertech-knob the covertech uses 8-32 socket head cap screw. Take that number to your local did store and ask for an 8-32 Allen key.
Not to be a @&£! to Afkor, but you run the risk of stripping screw heads if you use the wrong screw. I would want to make all changes reversible, but that's my own paranoid attitude.

Thanks Afkor and Gaelis

Moving the LED down worked much better then the tape and the wobbling stopped!

Im heading out to home depot later so ill just find the bolt, use it once, then leave it on the shelf in the package :P

Hi JackDonn,

You don't need another bolt to remove the Covertech Knob, but I think you would be better looking for a 5/32 size Allen Key/Wrench to loosen the knob.

I hope this helps (not that you're gonna be spending/losing any money I suppose!)

For Tyeth

(The 8/32 refers to the thread size on the screw NOT the size of the Hex Bolt Socket on the top. Sorry Gaelis)

Hi JackDonn,

I measured the bolt across the diameter of the hole and I'm not certain of how the hole is measured (i.e. flat to flat or from one corner to another) so sorry if the size was wrong. If you have one of those Hex Key sets, one of them should fit, or as you said you should find one at Home Depot! The size may be metric I'm not sure.
I just wanted to let folks know about the difference regarding the description for the thread size as opposed to the wrench size.

Apologies again, but the info regarding wrench size isn't very well publicised (most people like having the Covertech on). I will continue looking for it to post later.

Hi Again,

Sorry bout that, I just looked back through my posts and did a forum search and found fellow member Ribber used a 9/64 Allen Wrench to remove his Covertech knob. The post is in Saber Hilt DIY section. I thought the info was around here somewhere, lesson to me...Search Tab is your friend!

Sorry for the confusion,

Saberforge sabers always come standard with a Covertech wheel, to clear this up. What you didn't order was the belt clip.

Congrats you got your saber, and I'm glad you got the blade wobble issue fixed.

Jack Donn Great saber. Kudos on the wrapped extension, way to go against the norm. Nice to see someone being unique with their saber.
