Hey guys,

I've been messing around with the ASP builder and I have a question for you all. I want to add a coupler between the switch section and the body, but when I try to build it it the parts builder the coupler always gets moved to the end of the body like this:

I'd really like to put the coupler between the two to add a little more metal above the body section, like this:

Is this possible? Thank you for any help regarding this question!

Wow, that's slightly annoying. I mean, if you were just able to order parts then it would be fine, as long as it was a male/female coupler between the switch and the body, but not being able to see it in the designer is a bit of a pain.

Email Saberforge? Maybe they'll fix it when they introduce the new ASP parts?

Don't the ASP kits ship all in parts that you then have to assemble? I just thought about that as a reliable solution to this problem.

Yeah, it comes in pieces. So if you order the coupler (assuming you can get parts individually) you can just put it where it needs to go during assembly.

I don't think this can be done, due to how each type of piece is threaded.

My understanding is that emitters have female threading, switches have male threading on both ends, body sections have female threading on both ends, and pommels have male threading. Since a coupler replaces the pommel, it has male threading on both ends. Since parts can only be connected to parts which have the opposite type of threading, even if I have this backwards, and the coupler still has the same type of threading on both ends, it cannot be attached to the switch section, which by necessity has the same type of threading.

SF offers male, female, and male/female couplers. They're actually available to select in the builder.

Exactly. I want it to go between the switch section and the body.

Start with the switch only. Put a FM coupler on both sides of switch. the a body section on both sides. then remove the side you wish to put your emitter on. MTFBWY

When I try to add a second coupler, it doesn't go to the opposite side of the switch. Instead, it just links with the first coupler.

OK I got it sorry try this. Start with a switch section an add FM coupler. Then add a body. It will move your coupler to the end. Here is the trick. add another body. You will then have body , coupler, body, and switch. Then remove body section in between Coupler and switch, the flip coupler. That should do it.
