Hey people

Not sure, but is it a ok for me to replace my current first generation ASP Saber non lit switch with a lighted switch with quick connects? ANY issues with soundboard supporting it?

Thanks

the new lit switch with connectors you can buy on shopsaberparts has a different connector than the non-lit switch. i believe the connector on the non-lit switch is called a micro dean switch which has two connections, and the new lit switch has four connections for the new v2 champion kit. i don't have a pic but you can see the other end of the connector in shopsaberparts.

Oh yikes..so I guess is not compatible?
I'll guess I'll see once I get it, it was already shipped... I hope there is a way to connect it

i suppose it depends on how proficient you are with electronics. my guess is you'll have to remove the black sealant on the switches, see how they're wired to the connectors, and see if you can swap them over.

v1 unlit momentary switch

v2 lit momentary switch

good luck!

i took apart my sabers. the unlit switch has two wires, the lit switch, four. the extra two wires are most likely for the + and - wires of the led in the switch.

so theoretically you could join the two positives in one strand and the negatives in another, get a micro dean connector...

btw, just realised one pic is upside down. :p

Not sure if this would work. If you connect the LED in parallel to the switch you're creating a pathway for current to flow from pad to pad, which might cause the board to always read the switch as held down. And then when the switch is pressed the LED would likely turn off because current would prefer the path of least resistance (not a big deal for a momentary switch, but still something to keep in mind).
