Hey guys,

I got my ASP saber ages ago from the kickstarter campaign and it's sat happily on my self ever since. I picked it up the other day to show some friends, but it wouldn't work. Looks like the wiring from the activation button has broken off enroute to the soundboard. I don't duel with or even handle it all that much at all.

Is this something repairable on my own? Should I contact SF for warranty repair?

Any advice would be great. Thanks!

I would contact Custom Service first and see what help they can give you. If it's under warranty or can be repaired they will help you.

I don't ever think I've ever seen a wire break exactly like that... a very clean break. The wire may have gotten brittle during the soldering process. Not a hard fix, but you'll probably want to go through the RMA process for a repair like Jas-Ot recommends; the v1 ASP electronics haven't had the best run, so having the warranty intact may be a life saver later on.

Assuming sf does not warranty it, strip the covering get some heat shrink braid them together and solder then cover with the heat shrink
I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Saber Forge recommended the RMA process as well so it's off for repairs.
