Does anyone know if they found a solution to the issue of weathered finish parts seeming to come in different shades, some looking bluer, and others blacker? I bought a weathered emitter a while back and now I'm looking to finish the hilt, but I'm concerned about ending up with a different looking finish between the emitter and the rest of the hilt.

Not sure if the standard weathered finish became more consistent on a part-to-part comparison, but since there are now multiple weathered finishes available (including Acid, and Shattered), not to mention 35 other powder coat finishes, I am thinking there will likely be one available that will fit the vision you have for your parts. B) :)

I have noticed exactly what you're talking about. In fact I've noticed some variation in the black finish on ASP parts, enough that on my last order I included a request to match colors in the notes.

I went ahead and asked CS, and they pretty much explained that it's an unfortunate reality of weathering parts individually that they don't always quite match up.

Which means CS doesn't know what's up since they're addressing varying amounts of sanding and skipped over the shade issue.

Phil mentioned it was an issue with the shop that was doing the anodizing returning parts in varying hues, and they were looking into moving anodizing in-house. Don't know if that was ever sorted out though.
