What would you guys recommend on using to lock the saber parts together?

For a more permanent lock, Loctite (insert colour here as I can't remember the hold strengths defined by the colours). Otherwise hand-torqued will hold however frequent use, handling and duelling will see them loosen regularly. White plumbers tape on the male threads is also an option for increased hold and still enables loosening if required to access the internals by specific section/part.

Red>Blue>Green.
Note that if you use red, you will need to use high heat to break the bond if you ever need to in the future.
