If you intend to duel, then my opinion is the Templar is better suited.

If you want one closest to Kylo Ren's, then the Templar is better suited.

If you want one for intimidating display, then the Relic. It is much heavier, larger and menacing in its looks.

Dueling is the main issue. Are you intending to duel?

Probably just for cosplay. I thought I liked the Relic better (as you mentioned, very intimidating), but the leather wrap is really nice on the Templar. Thanks for the feedback!

I wouldn't be surprised if there were people around here who could do it. But I'd scout the prices first; I'm not sure how much you would save.

They only use Velcro in Champion sabers, and I feel that this may also hold true for Hero sabers. I'll send an email asking if either of those things are in the Hero crossguards, and we'll see what happens.

Ok, I understand now. And I just heard back, you are correct, they do use 18650s and Velcro. Apparently you get about an hour of runtime. I'm not going to be dueling for more than an hour straight, but I can definitley see why you would want more than that out of a saber. Multiple duels, cons, et cetera.
