Thylacinewings and I are down in Waxahachie.
Incidentally, there's a Texas Saber Legion meetup at Getzander Park in Waxahachie this coming Saturday (Jan. 9). Supposed to start at 9AM, which seems a bit early to be getting up on a Saturday to me (  ), but I believe it's open to everyone who wants to show.

The Lightsaber Academy @ Turners Martial Arts Studios in Flower Mound, TX. Classes every Saturday @ 1pm.
Hi all, I'm Master Joe Turner and I own the school referenced above. Yes, I'm actually a 7th Degree Master Black Belt and have been teaching weapons for a long time. I too recently found out about these type of lightsabers and started up this program. I LOVE the sheer FUN element it adds to our martial arts training. Don't get me wrong, I also love the whole spinning, twirling, artsy, acrobatic duels that can be done BUT, I'm a self-defense guy. I will teach you practical swordsmanship somewhat tailored to the concept of the lightsaber. We spend half of each class doing drills for skills and the other half on live sparring. You are welcome to come out and try a class for free to see if you like it, my facility and/or me. Love to see you! |

Lot of Texans here I'm in weatherford 20 -30 mins west of ft worth
Weatherford is having its first comic con on April 2nd I will be going to show off my saber but next year Dallas comic con with my Jedi outfit ready by then!!! |

I live in Dallas, just north of Dallas Love Field, east of Marsh/Lemmon!
Has anyone else joined DFW FanForce? I joined the group on FB a while back, they setup a theater viewing of TFA for the group when it came out, but I had to work and couldn't go. I hear they hang out every now and then, you guys should checkout their page. For the TFA opening, they also printed out these great shirts at 20$ a pop for the group members. I grabbed one and still wore it to my midnight showing the first night, even though I couldn't go to their other group viewing. Its this great logo of the Falcon and Texas Flag merged together in this simple artsy way with DFW FANFORCE AWAKENS underneath, got a lot of great head turns. The back says "DFW FANFORCE, we were here first" something along those lines. Nice to meet you guys, I serve at III Forks Steakhouse, you should come by sometime and say hey, name is Chris. PS - yes, my SW area had some Christmas stuff in it... it was December! |
