Hi SadiraOrphesu,

I have been watching your sabers develop over time and they are spectacular. So much so that you wouldn't know they were ASP, you'd think they were stock SF models! Hope they serve you long and well.

Thanks For Tyeth, that really means a lot. Finding the sabering community was really a dream come true and then being able to develop a saber that was exactly to my tastes through ASP and this being my first build really turned this into a personal project. I have everything left to finish them ordered and coming this next couple of weeks except for the sound boards so the project is coming to a close but these sabers need sound and light to bring em to life and I'm glad to have other people enjoying the process of this as much as I am

If you really want to go brassed out, make sure the button screws on the bodies are 8-32 (the site says 6-32) and replace them all with brass lamp screws like I put on my vigilant body and mauler switch saber. You'll have brass all the way around and it will look awesome.

Here's a link to an ebay auction for what you'll need. A single body should take 24, so you'll need to get 2 if you can.
lamp parts

You can trim the length with a set of the standard wire strippers with the screw/bolt cutter. Thread them in by hand on the body and just twist finger tight. It's what I did on one of my sabers.

I've actually bought those from my local hardware store before though I would need 6-32 size, I'd like to see if I can find the same screws as what is already in the body but in brass but otherwise that's a good idea of what I could use to replace it if I cant find the same.

That's why I said to verify the screw size. The web site says 6-32, but just about every other screw they use is 8-32. As we all know, the site is still full of typos and picture errors. It is possible the screws on the body are actually 8-32. You'll have to find out. Either way, good luck. It will look great with all the brass. You can also add o-rings to the couplers for comfort. I used 3 #84 o-rings on the pommel of my saber and it was a perfect fit.

So I popped out all the old button head screws and after way too long digging through bins at my hardware store (who am i kidding I love digging through bins at the hardware store  ) I got 24 brass slotted button head screws (I would have had to go online for socket cap which frankly for decorative screws I wanted to avoid) but I was hesitant since the threading would keep the slots from being uniform around the bodies. In the end it didn't matter the randomness of the slots creates a more customized and authentic look in my opinion as though I built this hilt out of what was available, these hilts looks amazing. Wamphyri13, seriously thanks so much for this idea cause it brought the brass accents to the next level and I honestly didn't even think about it. I'm now truly brassed out the ass

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! A great set of sabers just got greater! Now just order the Elite Blade Plugs in brass and your topped off. Excellent job!

PS - for everyone's knowledge, are they 6-32 or 8-32? Was the site info accurate?

Oh I've got some big blade plug plans... much bigger than elite plugs... one might say my plans are...

But I'm gonna keep those plans in my pocket, for now

The screws ended up being 6-32 so the site was correct but it did make it a pain to find the screws haha

You know, if you were looking for an easy solution to add some brass accents you can always try some rub & buff. I use antique gold and it works great. Just rough up the area with some 220 grit and then apply the rub & buff. it makes for a very durable finish that outlast any rattle can finish and you won't have to spend time looking for specific brass parts.

Good to know, thank you, I have to refinish the blade retention knob so I'll give that a shot!

Ooooo... that Rub n' Buff looks promising. Just polished up my Consular, might as well try out that stuff on my Arbiter once it gets back from repair.

Double posting, but... totally derped on that listing and ordered 4... sets of 25 screws. :silly:

At least I won't run out any time soon, and will have PLENTY of spares if I mess up while shortening some of them. They work pretty good though, prefect length w/o modifying for the ASP Emitter 10 and much lower profile than using a screw from a covertech wheel.

So, SadiraOrphesu that listing would be a nice deal if you need any more brass bits for future projects. :)

Not to hijack your thread too much, but here's my test piece (spare Coupler 1) with Rub n' Buff:

What I did with my Templar build is masked it off and rattle canned it with a metallic oiled bronze then went in with the rub & buff to add accents like you would see in actual metal. It turned out great.

Rub & buff is wax based, so once it dries its water proof and in my experience pretty invincible.

Wanted to show you my Juggernaut staff. I've been working on a similar build for awhile now. I went more for the pike/spear idea.
