The one that never came up before.

It fits my character well. He's a Grey who knows and has seen combat. He stays away from the gaudy excess and sticks to simple functionality. Being neither Jedi nor Sith, the hilt shows a distinct, even mix of black and silver, light and dark. Similarly, the blade is a mix of blue and red, Jedi and Sith. The hilt is also fairly plain but serves its purpose well. It's made out of whatever he could pick up, since he has no formal training and built this on his own. A synthetic crystal was even used, though it was a real pain for him to find a purple one, which was crucial to him. Most of the parts are from starfighters or speeders, though some he fabricated himself or stole from supply warehouses. As lightsabers have always been intended to be, Jyn-Toar's blade is an elegant weapon, but his era is a less civilized age.

All the more reason for him to use it.

Anyways, that's the story. :P Just need the saber and the costume now...

Oh quick question - is there any way to see price points on the parts?

Since the ASP builder is just for the Kickstarter right now you can't see the price point. Since the stretch rewards offered either a blade or a part, and a blade costs $30, I would anticipate parts costing roughly $30 too.

Also empty hilts run about $150 so I would guess parts will be $20-$50 depending on the coplexity and size of the part.
On the site:
Blade plugs - $10
Couplers - $20
Spear extensions - $30
Claws - $30-$35

That should give us a pretty good idea of part costs.

I think something like this will definitely need to be a future purchase...

  • Attatchment is forbidden. Possesion is forbidden. Compassion, which I would define as unconditional love, essential to a jedi's life. So you might say, that, we are encouraged to love.

I'm getting one lightsaber from Kickstarter contribution. That one will be this fine lady I'm calling Righteous Fury:

I want to eventually do a dual weilding grey jedi cosplay. My robes will be black and blue (think a combination of Anakin episode 3 and Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat). I've desided on the hilt for my second saber but not sure if I want to go double blue or blue/red.
Vengeful Wrath:

Either way the cosplay will be that the Vengeful Wrath was a conquest from a sith, just with the blue blade he replaced the crystal.
Sabers owned:
  1. Non-SF Hilt-only ANH Luke
  2. Kickstarter ASP (Champion)
  3. Venom (Champion) [Wife's]
  4. ASP (Hero)
  5. Arbiter (Initiate)

I'm really torn on my handle. I know everyone has different tastes, but I'd be interested to hear opinions.

Option 1

Option 2

Back in high-school (around the year 2000) I drew and even built a saber out of drain and pvc pipe. Since then its been lost to time, etc.

Looking back - however - I was actually able to re-create it pretty closely in the saber builder!

LOL, definitely a matter of taste. I preferred 2. I don't think the pommel goes very well with the body in #1. BTJMHO.

Thanks for the feedback.

One of the things I'm torn on is the sleek "pipe" looking sabers and the clunky cobbled-together sabers from the movies.

I'm on design number 7 and I'm sure I'll go through seven more before I submit my part survey.

I agree, I had originally designed a similar saber, with that body (#10) and the vengance emitter, but decided to scrap it. The vengance emitter is very busy and IMHO needs a very simple body with it. With that emitter I would go with a very simple elegant body style.

Personally I like something like this for the vengance emitter. Graflex, or Vengance, or anything with vertical ribbing looks good too.

Looking over all the sabers posted on here and I must say Well Done!! Its easy to craft some dorky sabers, but I'm impressed with the thought process put into each one of these. Here's mine, showing a little of the old school mixed with the new! I was pleased!

I completely understand. As I have 4 other sabers, all with the overall tubular look, I wanted to go for something with a bit more shape to it. I'm also trying to keep at or under 12" (specifically a one-hander) as my others are in the 15" range. As for how many designs... umm.. I shouldn't dare count.

I give you.....Excalibur!

But seriously, I'm thinking this will be my final design. I'm waiting to submit in case something new is added to the builder.

Hey guys, just a note! If you notice I have had to edit your posts, its because you're not embedding your images for easy viewing. If you're not sure of how to do that, take a peek here! At the bottom of the post I posted a step-by-step guide how to do this, so people can see the images you're sharing easier. Makes for far easier image viewing! :)

Thanks!
