Hello Shai Kah,

I heard my name called LOL! Do you have a backstory in mind for the saber? Having a story or character in mind can help naming sabers, mine for example is the "Bal'Demnian Blade" after the planet (and battle) where I was injured and had to replace my original saber which was damaged beyond repair.

But for a generic name, one that sprang to mind was "Jaded Protector" just from the Jade Fire emitter and the saber looks like a solid and sturdy weapon that would probably have been used to defend a lot of people over a long time.

Hope this helps, let me know if you'd like any other suggestions based on any possible story etc,

For Tyeth

I was actually thinking for this one to send it to someone to have it heavily modified to look old and damaged, yet still working. Similar to how HereticxXx did this one

So similar effect, being very worn down and damaged, as though it's been through a lot and made it through everything intact.

But nicer and more than just the weathering that saber forge does.

Hi again Shai Kah,

Ok, that sounds like a plan.
I'll have a think on a name for it (sorry I didn't reply straight away, I was just handed my dinner!) and I'll get back to you.

kind regards,
For Tyeth

Anyone else really says: illiberalis. Latin meaning unworthy.
With the twin boxes and surface-happy greeblies, looks to take a special level of Mastery to wield it. To the likes of Excalibur and Mjolnir, only one that is worthy shall wield it.

While this would not be a practical saber design from a purely financial standpoint, (no body, but a total of 8 couplers) I do think it would look really nice fully realized in Black Chrome over dual tone.
I present to you, the lightsaber of Sith Lord Darth Moneybags! (the Monopoly guy)

Reminds me of my Harry Potter hilt "Abietes Conum"

A "Fir Cone" was the closest thing I could come up with to make this look like a piece of wood!

I do really like your design wamphyri13, very Sith like, it kinda shouts out Darth Bane Orbalisks!

kind regards,

Not having looked through all the pages, I didn't know the coupler idea had been done. Should have known. ;) I guess it's true, great minds think alike.

The coupler idea is a fun one to try out, but yeah, it does make it kinda impractical when it comes to price. Here's "Sterling", a saber I made that is 5 feet from end of pommel to tip of emitter. as you can see it is quite pricey, and that is without any electronics.

Hi wamphyri13,

To be honest it isn't my idea I learnt it from a friend, fellow member drgolds who created that trick! He didn't like control boxes and was trying different switches then deleted a part and ended up with 3 or 4 couplers in a row and realised it looked good.
So all credit needs to go to drgolds (but unfortunately he doesn't post here anymore it seems).

kind regards,

Well I've been a bit busy but two names that came to mind were "Redoubtable" and "Resolute" which stemmed from "Stalwart". I thought those words sorta suited a well worn and battle proven weapon (or person for that matter)

Hope these names help and let me know how the hilt progress,

Hi Armymedic1975,

A nice name, a saber with wings and claws! (I just Googled a translation. My Latin's not that good yet!)

And Bdurist, I like that hilt, though you might have to fix the threading from the Prodigal body to the emitter with a coupler. When you say it came "randomly" do you mean it just came to mind or did you hit the Random Saber Button?

kind regards,
For Tyeth

Hi Bdurist,

Ok I just wasn't sure when you said it came randomly! Another member of the forum started a thread where we had to hit the "Random Saber" button three times then take a pic of the saber we got and write a small background story for the hilt and post it!

I did think about using two Prodigal Son bodies like you have but I was concerned that the pommel ring blocks might have affected the grip (it does look good but if the blocks were just slightly smaller it would have been perfect IMO).
Anyway I do like the idea and the name so I hope you don't mind I've knocked up your design with the coupler part installed and a second picture with Coupler 1 as well to give you an idea.

I hope you come up with some more designs,

For Tyeth

The gladius was the design that got me into saberforge, may your saber serve you well!
