So, I just noticed that TheyWhoShallNotBeNamed Sabers just started making a Mace Windu style saber; this prompted me to try and build one in the ASP builder, here are my results:

The closest match to Mace's emitter is the Juggernaut with the blades removed (since I couldn't do that in the builder itself, I just cropped them out.)

After that I just started playing around with it.

It's a bit flashier, but this one seems to work really well (to me).

Also, this happened:

Didn't go through this whole thread so for all I know this design could have been posted already. I call it the "Dark Crusader". I plan on ordering this soon-ish, probably whenever SF runs their next sale/promo (hopefully all my parts stay in stock by then).

Emitter - Dissident
Switch - 10
Body - 6
Pommel - 2

It also looks pretty good in the builder with Emitters 3, Epoch, Juggernaut and Sinister Prophecy. May end up buying one or more of those with different quick connect LEDs to swap around.

Hi KelbornX,

I like this design, and I don't think it has been done before (at least not here!). Lining up the body section with the ribs like that should give you great grip. I look forward to seeing pictures if you do get it built.

kind regards,

Here are 3 designs I came up with.
First design is the result of two long dueling warriors who were once friends, after one has fallen to the other. The Epoch emitter and switch are weathered to show the age while the new Reliant body and pommel 10 were from the opposing saber and repairs. The Epoch had a red crystal while the Reliant had a yellow crystal. The 2 sabers were cobbled together as an homage to the fallen. It features both crystals for the blood orange color of it's 37" blade.
Second design is comprised of a Resilient emitter, Mauler switch, Vigilant body, coupler #1 and pommel #4. It has a 32" green blade. The emitter is silver as well as the coupler and pommel. The pommel has O-rings to fill in the gaps and give it the 2 tone look. The body and switch are dual tone and the control box has been filled in with red, yellow, and green to reflect the power status. Some of the factory silver greeblies and knobs have been changed to brass and nickel lamp parts for comfort and style.
Saber number 3 is an offhand shoto. I tried to make it as short as practical so it was more like a main gauche. The pommel is a dual tone Sorcerer. The short Katana body and switch #9 are solid black and the Resilient emitter is dual tone with the bottom rings left black. Only the fins and emitter face are silver. It has a 26" yellow blade. These represent the actual sabers I have bought, but just haven't taken any good photos yet. I'm going to have Saberforge duplicate #3 so I can make a staff. 1 and 2 are Champions while 3 is Warrior.
Did I miss anything?
Ryan

Hi wamphyri13,

That is a very detailed description! I especially like saber 1 and the backstory. However if you get it built you might want to keep it hidden from Brax, as it looks like it would match nicely with his recently acquired ASP (his is a black hilt with red wrap but with Frost White LED).

Keep designing!

Hi wamphyri13,

See I told you, Brax's Saberforgeforum spies are working overtime! Thankfully my security measures are more robust and I know when I've been spied on! (19th Dec actually!)

Well, with the release of SF's new site and the multitude of new Powder Coat options... I threw together a sleek hilt that I do believe will look amazing in the Transparent Gold powder coat with an Indigo blade. Did a wee bit of amateur photoshop to give an idea of what it should look like since the saberparts modeler probably won't have those options for a while.

I think I'll call it "The Royal" (because gold/purple).

Sinister Prophecy Emitter
Resilient Switch
ASP Body 2
Coupler 4 F/M
ASP Pommel 3

Here's how I photoshopped it if you guys wanna do your own for the other powerder coat colors:
  • Open screenshot in Photoshop CS2
  • Layer from Background
  • Use Magnetic Lasso tool to select hilt outline, right click selection and "Layer via Copy"
  • Create a new Layer, then use Paint Bucket to fill with desired color,
  • Right click the colored Layer and select "Create Clipping Mask", then change Opacity and Blend Mode in Blending Options as desired
I used 50% Opacity and changed the Blend Mode to Color Burn for this pic.

EDIT: @wamphyri13 -

Those are some nice hilts. I like the backstory to your Epoch/Reliant combo. While I'm personally not a fan of hilts with buttons all over them (don't like how it feels in the hand), your #2 hilt does look good. The little shoto is nice; I'm tempted to do something similar but with the ASP Emitter 7 to pair with my Vanquish.

No "if" about it. I've owned it since early October. Like I said, just haven't taken any actual photos. All 3 are already mine.

Okay, here's a few actual pics. The #2 saber is shown as it comes with all the greeblies, then as I've modified it for comfort. Basically known as Static and Dynamic photos.

Sweet mods and great designs wamphyri13 . Looking forward to a day when I can post my first of many ASP hilts on my wish list. The little Black shoto is pretty sweet, oh and way to sneek in the Hattori Hanzo Katana. :woohoo:

This is my design, the grip area is large for better 2 handed control

JANUS LIGHTSABER

Well!... it's been a while since I posted a design here but as we are approaching the New Year I thought why the heck not!

As you will see this is a double ended saber inspired and named after the Roman God of Beginnings, Doorways and Oportunities. That God is JANUS and he has, not one, but TWO FACES pointing in opposite directions. One looking back at the past year and the second looking forward to the future. As a result Janus also gives his name to the month of January the beginning of the New Year.

I thought this made a good Sith looking hilt!

So looking back 2016 is finally coming to an end and 2017 is about to begin. 2016 has been a year of personal growth for me, sometimes painful growth, but I have turned those experiences about face and come out of it stronger.

I'll see you all in 2017.....

Been keeping a keen eye on ASP since it was announced and I've gone through many different designs, but I've finally settled on what I want!

I don't have a name or any lore for it yet, but I'm sure I'll come up with something :)
