The ASP system offers something exciting by allowing us to recombine (or simply recreate) favorite hilt designs to create new things. But it also adds a large collection of new elements to the mix; correct me if I'm wrong, but the ASP parts 1-10 are newly designed parts, not part of previous hilts.

I'm curious, though, in all your mixing and matching with ASP so far, have you considered a "base" hilt, made only with corresponding numbered parts? If so, which ones? If not, would you ever? What minimal changes would you make to a base hilt that would make you consider it "desirable" or worth purchase?

For easy discussion, below are images of each set.

Set 1 and 2

Set 3 and 4

Set 6 and 5 (yeah, swapped 'em on accident)

Set 7 and 8

and set 9 and 10

So if Saberforge sold any of these as a complete hilt, which, if any would you be attracted to?

I would definitely be interested in 4, 9 and 10, and I would take 1 with a different pommel. In fact, my ASP preorder through IGG was basically Set 1 with Pommel 4. To me the parts on each of these really feel like they go together.

Pretty sure he's just asking which design (if Saberforge ever produced that specific one) is the most desirable? If so, then why?

I think this is pretty fun actually. I hadn't put the parts together based on their numbers yet surprisingly, I just used the numbered pieces as additions or swap in a for 'named' hilt designs.

As for my favorites I definitely prefer 9 and 10. They both have a great techy/industrial feel to them that I really like. Very similar vibe to Coran Horns saber.

Ah, I'd heard of I, Jedi before but wasn't familiar with it's protagonist. Having looked up some pics of the saber, yeah, I can see what you mean.

Furious Redemption ASP version.

He's just asking which one do you like the best in a hypothetical scenario where Saberforge sells that specific design.

You're sort of seeing it. A lot of the ASP parts go together to make complete versions of hilts SF has done in the past. Furious Redemption, Reborn, Katana, etc. The numbered parts are the exception. So if you treated them like complete "hypothetical" hilts, rather than ASP designs, which ones would appeal "as-is", and which ones might appeal with some small changes.

Definitley 10, then probably 4. I'm gonna go see just how close Hilt 10 is to the Oracle.

EDIT: Okay, besides the emitter, they are completely different. I'd probably go with Hilt 10 over the Oracle, now that I see the difference.
