There seems to be a curious lack of Avenger reviews. Curious, because the Avenger is a pretty popular hilt style, being that of Obi-Wan's Episode 1-2 saber... anyway!

I just obtained this Avenger, which is pretty much brand new, in a trade with a nice gentlemen for a VV saber I had got... changed my mind on, couldn't cancel... so I got it, put it up for trade, and ended up with this saber, so in the long run... AWESOME DECISION. Haha. The Avenger saber is pretty much spectacular. Very solid grip, comfortable, easy to use/spin, excellent balance, and a solid heft and feel to the hilt while still remaining very sleek and stylish.

So, here's a general shot of the backside of the saber, since most pictures focus on the front, where more of the detail is. This section is really smooth, comfortable. The whole grip is comfortable.

Now, at first, I wasn't too crazy about the pommel, thought it was rather bland and looked fake, but in person, it's actually really, really nice.

Very good detailing on it, the blocks are solid, sturdy, the whole pommel is strong and provides an excellent weight to the hilt.

So, this saber came in two colors, cause... quick connects are cool. =D

The colors are bright, super bright, just regular 12W LEDs, but still just... so impressive. Those pictures are all taken in the same lightning, so you know. =D And, this particular saber had a custom install done on it by the previous owner, who put in a NBv2, and allowed me to pick the fonts on it. I have "Rogue" and "The Chosen One" on it, and both are fantastic. He installed a high bass speaker, and the sound is rich, loud, throaty, and impressive. I will post a video soon, once it finishes uploading, showcasing the soundboard's features.

So. Overall, I rate the saber a solid 9.8 / 10.

9.8, because there's always room for improvement.... even if I can't pick out anything in specific that needs said improvement. Haha.

Is it easy to wield with one hand? Or does it require a two handed grip?

Very easy to wield one-handed, though a two-handed grips works just as well. The top greeblies do get in the way a little bit with a two-handed grip, or the covertech wheel on the bottom, but with a little practice and adjustment I've gotten used to it really quick. I mainly prefer one-handed hilts, however, so this is pretty much spot-on for my preferences. Very happy with the hilt overall.

Great review and a very nice looking saber!!

I particularly like the weathered version for this hilt which is not the norm for me. I am usually drawn to a more polished finished.

I had one a long while back that was weathered... lemme check to see if I still have a picture or two of it.

I got this originally with the concept in mind of a "Dark Obi-Wan" theme. Was one of the first Indigos to go out. Unfortunately right before it showed up I had a bit of a financial situation, and had to sell it the day I got it in, so. Yeah. That sucked. But since having it, I've always wanted to get an avenger again, and when this deal came up, it was pretty sweet. But here's some pics of the weathered indigo warrior one I had before:

YES! That is the weathered goodness of which I speak!

Great looking saber! I noticed that nobody had done any reviews of Avengers, and always wondered why. Now that there is one, I am convince that this is a "must have" at some point in the future.
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

My Avenger and Guardian arrived this morning, but I haven't had the chance to unbox them yet. This post has added to the excitement.

Thanks so much for this review! I had really wanted to order an Avenger for my first Saber, but was a bit reluctant with no reviews to peruse. I found a couple of reviews on YouTube and ordered mine anyway, but it's nice to see some forum reviews finally pop up!

Would you mind telling me which color of green that is in your original post? Is it just the standard green?

Thanks!

I ordered my Avenger yesterday, just an initiate, but so excited for it. Won't get it until mid January due to the lead time but it all adds to the excitement! Great review! I keep looking at the pictures and getting more excited. My better half is going to order me a PS as a late anniversary present! God I love lightsabers!!!

This was my favorite hilt of the prequel trilogy. I plan on adding this lightsaber in Champion tier to my collection by the end of the year! Thanks for the review.

I'm really looking forward to making this my second SF purchase. After seeing the pics, I don't know how much long I can wait. Thanks for the review Knytiri. I'll be sure to add mine to the mix once it comes in.

Hello everyone, I have a question about Avenger. Is it possible to make it double blade with avenger hilt? because the back end is curved so is it possible?

I believe that should be possible... you should just have to unscrew the pommel, screw on your staff coupler, then screw on your second Avenger and it should work out okay. The only saber I think you can't use for a staff is the Bane, but only because the curved hilt would make the design impractical.

Here's about what you would end up with:
