The thread size may be for authenticity. KR sells pins that say: "These are the same thread pitch for Genuine Graflex Flashgun and Graflex replicas", so they might be what Korbanth used.

I think those are the same ones as what TCSS sells, though I might still inquire anyway (might give me an excuse to pick up the other accurate screws he sells).

Awesome staff. I fell in love with the simple elegant design of the bastion specifically to be a staff. I've ordered one but I'm starting to see how short they are. Can you tell me how long it is from emitter to emitter for grip and handling? I use a regular wooden bo staff now so I'm curious how limited my hand work will be. Do you kinda wish you had gotten the extended coupler?

The staff was a bit smaller than I was expecting as well, because you essentially lose the pommels to put in the extender. It is 19" emitter to emitter.

I had considered the staff extenders at the time, but could not order the plain black leather option (only black snake existed and no changes could be done). Luckily with the launch ASP, I have been able to order them in this option :) Will share a pic once they have shipped, which should be soon. Basically went with 2 staff extenders + the long coupler.
There must be both dark and light.

Hey all. Just a quick preview. One of my ASP orders came today. Here is my new staff. Will try for some better pics later but could not wait to share.

41 inches :) w/o blades.

And I got some shims so now both sets of covertech knobs and switches line up nicely.

;)

Great news about the success you had with the shims and alignment. With just the Hilt(s) at a combined 41", do you plan on using the shortest offering of 26" on each end or is the intention to go something shorter say like two Crossguard 6" Blades or a 'cut-shorter' 26?

Lol..well my Relic is in the build process, maybe the 6" might work :). Most likely 26s. I have one coming with my Phoenix to add to my collection of blades. Will probably pick another up or shorten an existing 32.

Tomorrow will be exciting, my main ASP is supposed to arrive..."personalized" saber :).

 Yeah that was just a reminder plug for ic3cold to a comment he made in Wait Begins.
He got it. Not so much a Movie but a tele-drama. Grace Park from Hawaii 5-0..

However more suitably phonetically, Never ending Story's Bastian for Bastions Galore!

1. That staff is beautiful!! I don't know why I never thought of using two pike extensions for a staff. I'm a black belt in taekwondo and the bo staff is one of my fav weapons. But I've often thought the coupler wouldn't make a staff that was long/comfortable enough to use. The extensions were a great idea!!

2. As for the blades, adding two 26" blades would make the overall length 7.75ft (anyone reading, feel free to double check my math lol). Do you plan to duel or is this purely for cosplay?

3. I'd suggest getting the blades on the etsy shop. I ordered a 32" v4 and 2 day blades a few weeks ago and had them in 5 days (including a weekend) after ordering.

Your Math is sound however less the length loss of the emitters depth. But since you are a Black Belt in Taekwondo and great with a stick and I only wear a brown belt that hold's up my pants and the sticks a broom, whatever you say, goes..

She was also in Nu-Battlestar Galactica, I thought she looked familiar. B)
So if that clip was from American network television, what was she actually saying?

Back on topic though, that is a seriously sweet saberstaff! It almost looks like it doesn't even need blades, like a newer version of an electrostaff.

LOL! Yes the saber is quite long with the 32". 26" will still be too long, so I'll order some blades and do some custom trimming on them. The staff is more for show, then for actual dueling :) But maybe in the future...

Thanks for looking!

With just the blade plugs in and the light escaping from the emitter windows, you could say it's an electro staff, like Grievous's guard droids use.
