Thanks for watching, glad you found it useful! I have a couple of VV plugs, agree they are not the finest around in my opinion. :P

By "not the best", you mean...... POS, you are right!
Even the more basic plugs in your first video blew them away.

I could get very addicted to elaborate BPs :P

...lol , VV BP were the most disappointing I ever pulled out of the box when they came.

BP can look very cool with the right hilt.

Yeah I'm gonna disagree here with the VV BPs = POS. Granted their range certainly doesn't demonstrate much creativity but the sanded white polycarb with the mirrored Imperial Cog insignia ain't that bad IMO. For an additional (that is limited to specific Hilt type) piece that is the Hero Photon Plug for Emitter-delete, friggin marvellous. On the subject of POS I vote standard BP, that you have to pay $5 for before checkout 'cos it's not included, for a clear specimen plug that is never uniform in size.

VV charges $10 for any BP.

On the contrary, a SF hilt comes free with a BP, not to mention as we all know, that we even get a matching weathered BP if you ordered a weathered SF hilt, or a brass one that matches.

But what do I know? Most of mine are in a Tupperware unless they are called up for a youtube shoot.

not to mention the associated lead time too!

Don't disagree and yes, the SF plug is a standard inclusion with the exception to TNs. ;)

Their lead time is poor. It shows lack of resource management. Now I don't mind extending it by a few weeks but it seems of late they have increased their lead time from six to nine months if I read correctly. That said, if there is a compelling hilt I may still consider it as I am now waiting on a number of mine anyway.

Their LT is poor, no doubt about that. However they aren't constantly issuing RMA. Seems there is no golden city in saber land.

In my exp on BPs the best come from non saber making individuals. That said SF has crushed all in Saber Company BPs

Yep agree. Considering the scale of SF's production (i.e. range of hilts, ASP, SF Customs etc.) their BP quality is pretty damn good.

Keep those links coming. Folks who do just BP tend to make the finest. :)

I'll give VV credit for their response to why their BPs are so ordinary. We're more concerned about the looks and electronic capability of out sabers than to bother with elaborate BPs. I feel that is very valid, however SF has used BPs to enhance hilts, and it works brilliantly IMO

 It's kinda hard for RMAs to occur when the LT exists anywhere between the release of Ep7 and Ep8. Whilst they mostly minimise themselves from the traditional Return Merchandise Authority, they actually replace it with one of a different kind, Remind Me Again How long ago I ordered and am still waiting? Cos.. you know.. we still continue to be waiting.
To stay on target to this Topic about BPs, Boiling Point.

Yeah but like Ex wrote further up, some BPs are naturally more effective to certain Hilts and not the other way 'round. Outlets that aren't Hilt vendors and just plugs have a one-type fits all approach. The DSE get away with this but others mostly have a bit of a hit or miss approach too cos the source designs plugs for Hilts rather than designing plugs to compliment the Hilt. Take the Reborn BP for example.
That said SF has crushed all in Saber Company BPs
Yup, it would seem they start their day with a hearty breakfast. :)

Those razor blade plugs are awesome, but as mentioned by all of you; SF actually makes BP's that compliment the hilt and make for an overall better aesthetic - still, I could definitely see one of those razor BP's compliment a Sith hilt.
And yeah, I figure we're not supposed to talk about other companies like VV :P

Eh, a lot of saber forums seem pretty on-edge whenever a competitor comes up. One of the reasons I chose to use this one is because people are more open to talking about and comparing brands than others... it's an unusual exception to what I see as this hobby's main taboo.

Oh, yeah, I've only been here a short while, so I'm still trying to get a lay of the land - I'm all for open discussion, but I as well am just wary before commenting on such a thing; as you say, some forums might immediately send out a warning.

Here we can get away with more. Mention a SF competitor on FB, you're gone. The VV site on FB allows you to mention other companies, but you mention one they don't like and a good portion of that group get on your case

That reminds me of how someone posted a really nice MR conversion on the TCSS forum, and made the "mistake" of using a SF blade in the pictures (which he/she didn't even mention until someone asked what blade it was because they liked the look of it), and suddenly nobody has anything nice to say.

Yet someone else got away with posting a saber with a SF LED and soundboard with a video demo that people really liked; most likely because he called the parts by their technical names and not where he got them from.

I get not allowing blatant promotion of competitors, but I'm a fan of people being properly informed; so, like Snakeeyz99, I was drawn here because of the more relaxed environment where you could ask questions about the hobby outside the related company and actually get an answer instead of a chastisement, or even knowingly mislead (which I've seen elsewhere).

That's right. It's about exercising some judgement and common sense too. If in my videos above, I also made comparisons with VV BP and comment they are a pale shadow compared with SF BP, and post that video at VV's FB page, then well of course it's not going to be received well. It's a hobby where we spend time and money. If I'm not happy with a company's product, then don't buy any more. Vote with the wallet.

With SF, I am giving them my wallet.

Well if were talking SF saber build Vs VV....SF for stunts and outside soundboard assembly, VV for a saber with all the upgrades. It gets pretty intense between companies. Ex said
spend time and money.
, and that's exactly why there are so many fanboys in this hobby. All these companies have strengths and weaknesses (ok some more than others, cough US)
