Thanks Otto; I'm almost done with the robe. Hopefully the other parts don't take too much longer! XD

Surprise skip to the end!

Technically, not quite the end, since I still need to make tabards, the inner tunic, and the obi I had planned, but this is what's getting rushed out the door for SLCC tomorrow XD. I procrastinate so bad! But I'm happy with how it's turned out so far. I have the material for the inner tunic, I just didn't have time to make it. For tomorrow, the obi will be made with left over robe material, but when I get the chance I'll order the lighter gray I originally planned to redo the obi and make the tabards, and finish it up. My Rb/Rb saber came out very purple on camera, but it still looks great :)

Great Work Borom. I would have been nonethewiser if you didn't mention it being incomplete and ready for use for the intended event. Mate, you look tall against the posed doorways, what are you like 6'2"? The belt system looks good and sturdy too. Likely not as intended but can it accommodate two Hilts? Which then follows with, Is Martyr first choice for the event or will it be Wayward?

Thanks all!

@Ovrcahst, that's just the power of angled shots, and a low ceiling; I'm 5'11". The belt could definitely handle two hilts. This outfit corresponds with Bor'om and will just use Martyr. Next year I'll make one for Borommakot, and that will use Wayward. And then there'll be a final one the following year, paired with an as of yet unrevealed saber.

Hope the next instalment of Trials of (Literature) Transformation won't be deferred to the same intervals? :S

By the Force, I hope not! The next entry is just about done, though, so more is on the way.

More from the Con, including the only other shot with the hood up (finicky thing).

An update!

I finally finished my first pass at this costume. The iteration in my last photos was lacking a few things. For reference, here's my original vision:

The version I wore to this first con was missing tabards, which eventually I did make. Here was the "all the right parts, but still WIP" version of the costume.

I hadn't made an inner tunic yet, so I was actually using a this thin sweater my wife had. The obi is just a long strip of scrap left over from the robe with the edges tucked out of sight, and the tabards are single layers of fabric(not quite the same length) with the inner edge hemmed and the outer edge bare. They got the job done.

And here's after properly finishing the costume. Well, "properly." I still have a bunch of hemming to do (I hate hemming).

Ironically, the part that turned out the best is the one that's least visible; the inner tunic.

I'm pretty happy with it, but there's definitely more to do. My robe has a number of weak seams and some outrageously uneven hems, and I'd kind of like it to meet Rebel Legion standards, so it needs to be a bit longer. I'll probably remake it at some point. My outer tunic is somewhat patchy from use of a bad pattern, and it was just one layer of cotton gauze. I've already started cutting pieces to remake it more accurately and with a lining. Probably need a slightly wider obi, too. Once that's done, I'll feel comfortable moving on to the next Trials costume, Wayward Borom.
