Light, Dark, Grey?

There must be both dark and light.

Here are a few more pics of my Grey Jedi outfit. I'm debating between the grey pants and the black pants. I think I prefer the black now that I see the extra pics I took. (PS - I'm not using the covertech belt clips at this point, because SF ran out of them for my Bastion order. So I'm must tucking them into the belt for now while I await their future arrival :) )

Awesome outfit ic3cold! Both sets of pants work well, but I agree the black looks better. Well done!

Great work ic3cold. I'm favouring the Black pants as it balances the two tones more effectively. The Gray pants 'floods' it and removes the focus from the upper torso.

Epic. I'm hoping to do a cosplay for each, eh, "discipline".

Ic3Cold, you don't post often, but when you do, it's pure gold.

I agree the black pants look better, but the costume looks great either way. It might not be the most comfortable or convenient way to carry the sabers but it looks cool having them under your belt.

Hehe, thanks so much Muns! I'm fairly new to the SaberForge community, but looking to be here for a while :) My SF Saber selections have been geared around various Cosplay outfits I have in mind. The PS is what really put me onto SF, and yet I'm waiting on a Phoenix and a Relic...waiting is the hardest part.

At some point in the near future I'll need to put up some pics of my overall collection. Currently waiting to complete my ESB Luke cosplay outfit. Got the Saber (one of the last Yoda vintage graflex) before he started auctioning them), got the boots, got the blaster, got the belt + holster. Missing the fatigues (curse you Anovos...you are always delayed!!) :)

Hi OvrcAHst, the more I look at the pics, the more I really like the black pant. Totally agree with your points. Eyes are drawn to the Tunic. The other pant is just too grey! Thanks for the compliment as well :) Appreciate it.

Yes, not the most comfortable, especially since I like the Obi to be very tight. The covertech knob digs in a bit, but for photos I can deal :) hehe! At some point I'll get the SF covertech belt clips.

I was on Etsy looking at costumes and noticed that Hamptons Jedi Outfitters is now using one of your photos for the completed look of their Grey Jedi set. It definitely looks like they make quality stuff. Congrats!

Yup, Meryem is very gifted and responds very quickly. The out fit has quality fabrics and the weight is good. Feels very *authentic* if you know what I mean. My first time ordering from her, she and I went back and forth on the costume. Originally it had a black obi, but I felt it would be too much black, especially with the robe on. She has a bunch of other designs you can pick from. Looks like she is doing Old Luke from TFA for her husband at the moment.

Pants are just standard black that I had kicking around, while the boots are a pair of riding ones I found on ebay for cheap.

Thanks gjhoward. Blades are the 32" (staff) variant. I got a 37" with my PS and felt it was a bit too long. The 32 are perfection.

I like your outfit but I do have a side question. I've been thinking about doing a Bastion Staff and was wondering how well you thought that might work.

You're in luck because I have an extender as well for my Bastions to make the staff. Works pretty well, although the bastions don't line up 100% (e.g. The activation buttons do not line up or the emitter lines). I figure I could fill in part of the thread on the extender to get the alignment. Just haven't tried it yet. Another issue is the covertech knobs end up really close together. Suggest you remove one, and relocate the other to the LED retention screw.

You can find some additional details in this post on moving the knobs: https://saberforgeforum.com/forum/bastion/11545-champion-bastions-galore

That works so well as a staff, even if they don't line up. Maybe some shims could adjust the timing at the coupler?

Hot Rod, i'd really like to try this. How would you go about implementing this?

You just buy a set of timing shims and drop it in between the hilt and coupler:

https://www.shopsaberparts.com/collections/accessories/products/timing-shim-set

If you have an odd rotation to make (let's assume 45 degrees), you use the next size-up shim (2x 0.004" shims for 60 degrees) and then sand the female-threaded component a bit until everything's dialed in.
