When they are a an organization that prides itself on movie accuracy to the point that the creating company calls on you to fill its needs for events. yeah it should be taken seriously. Doesn't mean that there aren't uptight people in the organization, but they do have every point of accuracy they look for in characters posted up front for people to follow.

It sucks getting turned down by the RL but I get where they (and the 501st) come from. To echo what others have said they have a sincere commitment to accuracy so I wouldn't see this, necessarily, as a bad thing but rather an opportunity to up your cosplay game.
