So I wanted to make an outfit for the Marathon/Premiere of EpVII at my local theatre and decided to throw together a Jedi Cosplay - Since I've already got a Sith and Dark Jedi, this was the logical next choice. I ended up finishing the Outer Robes the night before and I love how it all came together.

The only lame thing is that out of the 24 hrs that I was at the theatre (waiting in line and 18hrs of movie time) there were only 3 others in costume and I only received 2 comments of any kind. Sure there were stares, but it seems that my town has a severe lack of super nerds or ppl who enjoy cosplay.... Whatever. ^_^

SO here are some WIP pics and then final product pics for you. :)

Impressive! How many yards of fabric did that end up being? I'm just starting out crafting my outfit. And did you do those stitches yourself? They look amazing!

Thanks! ^_^ the stitching on the collar is with my machine. :)

The Outer Robe was about 8 yards
The pants and tunic were probably 6-7 yards (not totally sure, since I was just working with my own vision and only used a pattern for the basis) and that doesn't include the liner that's sewn in as well.
The Tabards and obi were probably 2 yards

1.) I want to be friends with you. I'd cosplay at the movies with ya!

2.) That outfit is dope as hell.

3.) What materials/fabrics did you use?

One day, you need to come to Portland so we can cosplay randomly. Daniel will join us, I'm sure. Lol

That's too bad; it looked awesome! I went to one of the marathons too (drove two hours to the closest theater that was doing it!), and there were also only a few people dressed up (a guy in Jedi robes and 2 young girls dressed as ANH Leia and Geonosis Arena Padme), but that was because just about everyone else was in pajamas. I at least wore my AT-AT schematic shirt and Boba Fett hoodie. :P

And a functional R2 unit showed up, which was cool.

Maybe when episode VIII come out I'll throw something together for the premiere. Been thinking about a clone war armored Jedi for a while now...Should probably wait until my saber comes in before I get ahead of myself...

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the feedback! More can be seen here: www.facebook.com/aletaniacklay

I have done only one or two years of textiles type classes, otherwise, this is just from growing up in a creative household and working to gain experience and better my skills. :)
