It finally arrived today!
The Jaina Solo inspired Destiny in 12W Indigo. I have anxiously awaited this saber since it was first announced. Jaina Solo is my favorite character from the now legends EU so I had to get my hands on this and it did not disappoint. It has beautiful finish without a scratch on it. The cosmetic only control box does have some sharp edges but nothing that cant be fixed with 2 minutes and file. It measures right at 12 inches |

How does it handle? Good balance? Grip alright? Does it spin well? Lol.. lots of questions. Been waiting for some reviews of this one...

The grip is very good and the balance and weight are much better than my only other saber the Justicar. Honestly its like night and day when i compare them. The control box does get in the way a bit for spins and if i were going to duel with the saber I would probably remove the box that way i was not thinking about where to grip it all the time.
For me though its more about what this particular saber represents so even if it was a lead brick to hold I would probably still love it. Thanks for fixing the images Knytiri let me know if I can answer anymore questions. |

Ok so you got me tinkering with the saber and found a solution that I like to the control box. I loosened the hex screw just enough to turn it around 180 degrees. While it does overlap the recessed area just to the emitter side of the activation switch, it gives just enough extra room for me to get a full hand on that part of the saber now. I think I will leave it like this because from a distance im not sure you could tell that I changed anything at all, and it is certainly more comfortable to hold now.

As a huge Jaina fan myself I know one day I'm going to end up with one.. I have the statue that the saber was modeled after...
So, eventually I'll have a Destiny myself. Tho, hating control boxes like I do, I'll probably custom order it without one entirely, so I can use it as a dueler and be happy lol. |
