TOPIC: 12W Amber Champion Exhalted

I have always been a huge fan of thin neck sabers. I just really really love the aesthetics. So of course I bought the Redeemer and Prodigal Son, but neither of those were comfortable for dueling because of the large activation box.

Enter the Exhalted, a thin neck saber that is ergonomically designed as a dueling saber, and a gorgeous design in every respect.





I got mine in 12w Amber, Champion edition with Viridium soundboard, and I use it all the time for dueling. It's extremely comfortable, the choke point at the neck is great for spinning, and the bottom portion of the grip is great for a two handed style.

Pros:
-Gorgeous design
-Thin neck aesthetics without loss of blade brightness or durability
-Easy to duel with.

Cons:
-No quick disconnect compatibility.
-Technically not compatible with blade plugs (see below for my way around this)

Now I mentioned that the Exhalted (and all thin neck sabers) are technically not compatible with blade plugs and do not come with blade plugs when you order them, as opposed to all other SF products. However, I really love the SF blade plug design, and so I decided to modify one to fit my Exhalted by sanding down the back end of the blade plug so it would sit flush against the Exhalted emitter, then I glued a .5" piece of blade tube onto the back of the plug and slid it into the emitter:

I totally understand your love for think neck sabers! If I buy another saber after ordering my Sorcerer Saberstaff, I'm definitely gonna go with a Thin neck Saber, probably the exhalted since the handle is more comfortable than those of the other thing neck sabers!

I love the thin necks too. I saw your vids Mario before I ordered, but was already eyeing the Exhalted. Originally I checked out the Prodigal Son as this purchase is the spiritual successor to my Master Replicas ROTJ green Luke I used to have. Then I ALMOST went for the Redeemer as I loved that hilt in the movies, but like you, I like the design without the big activation box, so Exhalted won out.

What is the weight of the hilt? Darth Mario, maybe you could add this to your OP.

Is the color true to the pictures you posted? I was thinking about ordering my next one in amber, and I like the look of your.

The orange of the blade closer to the tip in this photo is closer to what the actual color is.

Hey Mario how is the brightness of your exhalted compared to your guardian?

I find the Exhalted to be pretty much the same brightness as my other 12w champion sabers.

That's good to hear! I have a LONG time to go before mine will be ready, but I can feel the anticipation slowly building already.

Thats good to know cause I'm on the fence between exhalted or guardian and can't decide. Won't be making another saber purchase for a long time and don't want any regrets! I know you own the two of them so if you had to pick one?

Wow thanks for not sugar coating it! I love the detail of the exhalted but am a big Qui-Gonn fan want something comfortable. Thanks for the advice .

This is true, the Guardian's shroud does feel a tad bit on the flimsy side, and it's a wee bit sharp, whereas I don't have any flimsy or sharp edges on my Exhalted, and I just love the color combo and design better, so that's why it gets my vote.

Well thanks to your input Mario and your video review I seen a hundred times! I went with the exhalted 12w green champ edition! You totally sold me and I can't wait till it arrives!
Now my wife really hates my guts! Two light sabers in two months! I was told if I ask for another one we are headed for divorce court!
On the upside I've got two awesome toys!

The Exhalted is on my radar. I just like the pommel off of the Prodical Son better. Can this become an option?

You can always e-mail the support staff, and if they say it is possible, just include it in your order notes.

However, you can get the Prodigal Son or Redeemer without the activation box if you order from the main website and write "delete control box" in your order comments, essentially giving you an Exhalted with the cool pommel from Redeemer/Prodigal Son.
