Hey all,
I made an unboxing video of my Gladius.  I had only just gotten it, and was still griping a bit about duty fees.  Not SF's fault at all.I'm extremely happy to finally own one of these.  It's absolutely stunning! I opted for the bronze stingray wrap. Nice.  This is just an unboxing. A proper review will follow soon.  (NOTE: I did request that no parts were glued - that's why I check ).

Way to go man! I just saw this on YT and commented but I'll say it again here. Great choice of hilt, a lot of folks have said the Gladius is the best balanced hilt of all SF offer but is also really awesome looking too. Love the way you rip those packages open! For Tyeth |

 It feels very nice to hold, and I really like the detailing and wrap. As for actual weight; I'll have to determine that once I install the internals (currently working on a project - Gladius is on deck ).Thanks For. I'm really quite pleased with this one. SWTOR!!!!

That's an awesome hilt. If you can't get that emitter unscrewed, you should be able to install without it. I know you've done single piece hilt installs before.
And he's wearing a Ride the Lighting shirt. How cool is that? Metallica! |

Yeah, I'm not too worried about it (the emitter), just never tried a double switch section before, so that'll be new. I'm thinking that's the way any smith at SF would start out anyway. I'm looking for a good place to shoot pics or video for a small review/closer look (have to do it justice). I'll post it here, of course, and do a more extensive one when I finally light this puppy up. WOO!! METALLICA!!! LOL!! |

Did they send you any dummy switches at all separately or just leave them out since you requested non glued? I'm curious for future reference with my Initiate tier orders.
I don't usually do multiple switch or recharge port installs. I mean, I probably can, I just haven't ventured into that territory yet.Are you going to do a recharge port on yours? That would be cool to do. The only thing the removable emitter would probably help with is if the emitter has that lip in it for the LED heat sink to rest on, like my Acolyte does. Getting my wires and especially my resistors to feed through that was a pill and took a bit of time. With a removable emitter, I would have been able to easily pass the wires through that part. |

Dude, that stingray is nice. I love all the little details in the black sections. You can see why this hilt costs $149, it's fully loaded with details. That blade plug looks perfect, it reminds me of the pommel.

Hey Rapine. Well look at this... you finally got your Gladius !
The design accents are much different than the v1 I had. That blade plug looks so good and the bronze stingray wrap ( like mine ) is one of the most attractive. Now you and Revan can exchange customization ideas. Looked at the very same plug for my Ronin order. Have some metal kill keys coming as well so you can let me know later if you need. Not sure what your plans are for this beauty. Those customs fees/taxes are a killer but I am prepared to shell out for my upcoming box... cus' I want my SF saber and other goodies lol.

I'm lovin' the bronze stingray - looks "alien-ish"...lol I might just take you up on a kill key...I forgot to get one of those... Yes, I'm trying to put the import fees out of my mind, and each time I look at this marvellous specimen, I kind of do.

Easy sell...lol Actually, I was short a couple of spaces before - picked up an extra saber though too, so now I'm still short one. I'll just have to order another. They're nice ones. I like the metal cross pieces.

Those stands are definitely a big improvement over the Imperial/Phoenix ones. If my shelf space wasn't fully loaded on DarkLyte stands I'd have grabbed a couple myself.
I've been following OxWorks and waiting for his run of a more game-accurate version of this saber... complete with big square control box and red button. Then, my collection will be complete! Shiny "Gladius" (or w/e he'll call it), weathered Gladius, shiny Xiphos, weathered Xiphos.

Now that would be cool. I wonder why SF didn't add an act box to this one - perhaps licencing... Regardless, I'm quite happy to have at least one now.
