I've come to the conclusion that it wasn't the blade itself but merely the glue holding the film inside that bubbled and melted slightly from the heat given off by the LED.
Not an issue I've been concerned about since its occurred.

I have never seen that glue was melted by heat from LED.
I guess some internal problem occuring. I seldom saw someone told about this kind of warming in this forum.
Is it solved?

Solved?
Sort of. I sent saber and blade back for refund.
I had no problems or issues with either saber or blade.
That is not why I returned it for refund.
My issue was with my own feelings towards it. It didn't FEEL like a lightsaber to me.
It was a Katana. It felt great as a katana and SF built a proper katana.
But when buying a lightsaber, I want to feel it has the essence of a lightsaber. And it had the essence of a katana, not a lightsaber. So I returned it for refund and bought the Phoenix. Which will be delivered (as per tracking) tomorrow.

I intend to potentially use one of these for dual wielding with dual 32" blades. Should I drop down to the tanto length, or would you say the wakisashi length would work better in terms of balance and handling?

I believe the balance and handling is mainly due to the weight of the blade.
I really liked the katana length hilt and as you can see by my photos, it is true to length and size of a real katana. I've actually found that dropping the blade size down to the 26" size has been my "repair". The 26" is shorter and lighter and gives you the capability of effortless spins.

If you're looking for a dual wield. I would possibly suggest the Katana with a 32" blade (so it's a proper size and length) and then get the Tanto with a 26" blade for your off hand. Throw them an inquiry. Maybe you can ask them to trim down the blades a little more for you. Like say a 28-30" blade for the katana and a 20-22" blade for the tanto. I think the minor decrease in size may assist in handling and balance.

Hate to bother you again, man, but would you mind taking a picture of where the tsuba attaches to the handle? Is there a retention screw or something?

It's no bother dude. But I haven't had this saber in a long long time so I cannot take a photo.
I can tell you however that it has no retention screw. The tsuba itself has a keyway which is like a little channel for it to sit squarely and adhered in place. Then the emitter cap that sits above is also adhered in place.

Got it. Thank you!

On a different note, did you sell it or something?

Nah, I didn't sell it.

It was my first experience with the whole niche market and wasn't sure what to expect.
I ordered a warrior tier and when it arrived, it was made so well but it chapped my ass to be making the sounds with my mouth or in my head the whole time.
It's a light saber. It needs sound lol. So I returned it.

I had the intention of just upgrading it with sound, but in the months leading up to receiving the saber I seen the "Upcoming Releases" section as it was new at that time. It never really caught my eye at first but suddenly like a week before it was released, I fell in love with Phoenix. So when I ended up receiving the soundless Katana, I returned it for refund and purchased a champion Phoenix instead.

Then unluckily within a month of owning it the LED on the phoenix crapped out and I sent it in for repair. Then luckily! The SF custom shop just opened at that time in August and was able to get the Phoenix customized at the same time as my repair.

Lol, that's a long winded story. Sorry.

What a story, friend. Sad, but it has a happy ending if you have received or will soon receive your custom Phoenix. Don't worry about how it drew on, it was interesting to read.

The reason I asked was because I'm trying to see on how to get a Custom Katana styled like Sandai Kitetsu from One Piece, my favorite of Roranoa Zoro's swords. Wanted to see how easy it would be to replace the tsuba, but I've come to the conclusion that a brass powder coated Hex Imperial Cog would look as good as a different tsuba, or better. Besides, I want the saber to tell my story as well as Zoro's.

Now it'd my turn for a long exposition, I suppose. Sorry.
