TOPIC: The best red?

I haven't ordered the LED for my Sith themed ASP I'm working on yet, and I would like to know which red is the best. I've heard that "Red" is a little too "orangey" and deep red is the least bright, a little pink, but truest to Vader's color in ESB. I'm contemplating whether to get Medium red or deep red, whichever is closest to
the Vader Hallway Scene in Rogue One. And is Deep Red closer to this picture? |

Deep Red is Red, Red is Red-Orange, and Medium Red is a little less orange. I was very disappointed in Med Red; it wasn't that very noticeably different from regular Red to me.
You will NOT be able to tell the true color of Deep Red from photos; it's far enough towards infrared that any camera will make it look pink. It is a true traffic light / stop sign / fire engine RED. Just get Deep Red and bask in its glory. You will be happy. |

This my Deep Red saber. As was stated above, looks pink, but is most definitely RED!

1. Deep Red + SF Red Day Blade = Sith
2. Regular Red + SF Infinity V4 = Red-Orange 3. Regular Red + SF Red Day Blade = less red-orange than 2. but not as Sith as 1. Medium Red is much the same as regular red. My preference with red is no.1 in that combination. Blades DO matter. |

Deep red only looks pinkish on camera. In person its the truest red out of the three reds.

Here's some comparison shots of my 3W hero Red (Note: this is the old XB-D RGBA LED module) and my 12W+ Deep Red in a 27" and 37" blade.
Can confirm that the pinkish tinge only shows up on camera. One thing to note, though, is the blade doesn't actually have a white core. Red has a very red, yet slightly orangish tint while deep red is a nice neon red. |

The majority of my red builds feature medium red. Typically a tri-cree with dR/R and either pcAmber or green as the accent color either for mixing or FOC.ans other effects.
I personally love the whole spectrum, from orange to deep red. They all can look fantastic on the right hilt. I have a Revan saber that has two primary colors sets, a blood orange, and a medium red. I have an MPP that will be a deeper medium (color mix of deep red and red), I had a full deep red Forsaken that was sold Plus plenty of client builds that run the red spectrum. All are and were gorgeous. To speak to the pics you posted - Dooku I would do deep red with white accent for blade effects, rogue one Vader, medium red with a white accent for blade effects. OT Vader I would do something between Deep and medium red with green as the accent color for yellow blade effects. White would work too though. |

To put it simply if you want the color red, go with deep red, in person it is not pinkish it is just blindingly red.

I made my purchase in standard red and a few weeks later learned of the greatness of deep red.
Emailed SF but it sounds like the order is not able to be updated. Still looking forward to my saver arriving but I really wish I had done a little more research before pulling the trigger. :/ |
