Hi guys!

So I'm in the process of making my first Star Wars short film and I'm trying to figure out what kind of lightsaber I should buy.

The character wielding a light saber is a female padawan who is being trained by a very experienced Jedi Padawan (it makes sense in the story). She gets in a fight with the main character, a bounty hunter, and the fight is pretty gruesome and aggressive, so I'm looking for a light saber that can take a severe beating.

Are the Apprentice Sabers good enough for that purpose?

I'm looking for a Stunt Saber where we'll add the lights in post, but I'd like a sword that has the glow anyway. :-)

Thanks for your help!

Sincerely,

Shahbaz Sarwar

I think you will find any saber in the Apprentice line up to the task. Even the thin-neck models.

Good luck on your project!
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

If you plan to play hard with it, I recommend a weathered finish, because the scratches of dueling are less visible with the time.

Hi Shahbaz,

I would probably recommend one of the following, the Arbiter, the Sentinel or the Consular.

These are nice looking hilts but not too flashy looking or advanced for a Padawan to own. They also have a deep blade socket with the blade retention screw nearer the lip of the emitter. This holds more of the blade making it more secure.

Looking forward to reading about your progress,

Just what I was about to say/suggest. All of these sabers have an awesome grip section that make them easy to hold. Definitely keep us posted about the film :-)
