Have you joined the various FB groups yet? I see some pop up every now and then in sales posts; managed to snag a pair myself a few months ago. Stuff goes up there FAR more frequently than eBay. Jas-Ot installed one for me already and the other is patiently waiting its turn lol.
There was some talk a little while ago about this hilt making its way back under the Apprentice line. Haven't seen anything about it since, though. |

I'm PRETTY sure that this is a v1. It's got electronics, but is pretty cheap (at least for now).

I picked up a weathered Xyphos through the fb group a several months ago and I love it!. SF's deep blue LED is great. I'd love to buy another one and add a deep red LED for duel wielding.
I think I heard somewhere on this forum that SF was going to add it back to the apprentice saber lineup?? I hope that's still true. |

Had no idea that the Gladius v1 was called the Xyphos... odd name. I'm beginning to regret gifting mine away. I found that the emitter with SF blade made it a bit too top heavy for my taste. Would love it if that specific version returned and would purchase again with a yellow or lime green LED this time. For my size it was a good comfortable one or two hander.

From Wikipedia:
"The xiphos (/ˈksifoʊs/, KSEE-fos; Greek: ξίφος)[1] is a double-edged, one-handed Iron Age straight shortsword used by the ancient Greeks. It was a secondary battlefield weapon for the Greek armies after the dory or javelin."
Makes sense, considering Gladius is Roman sword.  Hopefully more start popping up in places, since there was that promo giving them as freebies a little while ago. |

The Xiphos looks much nicer in real life than it does in photos. I love it. Here is my review. I got two empty Initiates fro free (SF discount deal earlier this year), and then I asked SF to install them.
