What are your configurations settings and how to best utilize sound and motion?

Right know I'm trying the less is more approach.

I'm curious what others are doing as well. One of the biggest issues I have with the "out of the box" settings is the overlap of sound when effects try to chain (such as during a moulinet or multiple quick motions). Given the difficulty in using the auxiliary effects during actual choreography or dueling the basic sound becomes fairly important (I almost wish I could switch which button inputs do what).

Having fewer swing sounds gives the feel of movement a better result, also eliminating the stab sounds and choosing only the swing sounds that give the same buzz vastly improves the characterization of the font.

The optimum setting for the motion (Katana 11.5 inch with 32 inch blade) is:

Clash 60-65
Motion 60-63
Spin 56-58

Thanks! I'll try this over the next week. I've been holding off posting a review until I give the optimization a chance.

My first Sabercore 3.0 is in a Templar cross guard with a vibration motor(which I actually like) I'm using blades I've made 32 inch thin wall main, 3.5 inch thin quillions( 6 inch SF sends are too long) and after playing around, I found that less is more..with 67/47/67 I was getting too many unwanted clashes, so I made it 57/47/57 and its about perfect. I'll tweak it a bit more as I play with it more.

Its interesting to hear about the different settings due the orientation of the sensors with the type of hilt and blade length and the way it's wielded. oh the ''less is more'' refers to the editing of the swing sounds from 20 down to something like 10. great feedback peoples B)

and what's great about having 3 sound banks is that you can test out different motion and sound levels.

Anyone know if energy vibration is tied to fonts? Any way to mute it or shut it off temporarily?
Or is it always on with the LED?

The Pulse and Shimmer settings do affect the vibration....it will vibrate according the the speed of the pulse or shimmer setting.
I don't think it can be turned off completely.

If the board can modulate it, then it can be set to spin at speed=0 no?

I'm pretty sure 0 is per font, haven't ever set to 0 myself so don't know if 0 turns off vibration too.
Gyro and Accel are graphics that show the modulation for hum, clash, and swing.

All settings on this screen are font specific. So, if you zero it for font 1, and save, it should not affect volume levels on fonts 2, and 3.
Imagine what you will know tomorrow....

Ok so what are the different switch press combinations?
I know:
press n hold 2 sec then 1 press = lockup
press n hold 2 sec then 2 presses = force

But what’s the right combo for switching fonts?
I always get mixed results

But remember that the saber has to be turned off, and then hold to enter the font menu:
[saber in deep sleep mode]
[tap] --> saber wakes up (startup sound of currently selected font, e.g. font 1)
[saber turned off]
[hold] --> enters font menu and switches to next font (e.g. font 2 startup sound)
[tap] --> switches to next font (e.g. font 3 startup sound) --> repeat until the font you wish to select
[hold] --> confirm current selection (font 3 confirm sound)
[saber turns on]

I find it to be actually much shorter than 3 seconds, more around 1 second at max.

I had the same idea but found it irritating to set the volume to 0 since then you don't hear the font announcement when changing to another font until the new font is confirmed.
I worked around this by replacing all soundfiles in the first font by a 1 second empty (silence) wav File, except for the startup and confirm sounds. I combined that with a reduced volume just loud enough so that I can still hear the font confirmations.
This way you can have a "parade" style font to save some battery and shut the volume when it would be disturbing to the environment.
