TOPIC: I must have gotten a Saber Forge miracle...

So, I have been in the market for a new saber ever since I bought two (technically I have three because the Darth Maul MR combines into a staff, but that's nit-picking) and I haven't had a new one since 2008. College happened and I finally was able to get some big-boy paychecks and decided to splurge a little and get an awesome saber I could actually duel with (note: the MR sabers definitively state you cannot duel with them... What's the fun in that??). Aver looking at US, VV, and Saberz, I decided to purchase from SF and am about to get my first saber in.

Now, here's the miracle part:

I bought my saber (Avenger, Champion, 12 w Arctic Blue, Viridium Sound Board light font, non-illuminated ignition, standard finish, 32" V4 blade) August 17th, and it said it went straight to the build list within like, 4 hours of my purchase being confirmed. I tried to glean as much info as I could concerning the status of my purchase (what phase it was in, what "Shipped" really meant, etc.) because I thought it was a mistake. Turns out I must have won the lottery because the tracking info just stated it's out for delivery today as I watched it make its way from Portland to Louisiana.

So, August 17th-September 8th (3 weeks, 1 day) will be my total wait time from purchase, to it being in my hands.

Didn't want to come brag, but I just wanted to put it out there to maybe give hope to those I read about who have been waiting 4, 8, even 14 weeks to get their sabers in. I honestly was not expecting to get mine till around January, so as you could imagine, I am ecstatic!

Does anyone have any theories as to why it basically was a SF miracle?

The only reason I could think of is that they mostly had the parts on stock and managed to build it quickly.

Did you go through the SF site or the Etsy shop?

Could have been they already had one built or fairly close to finished that matched your order specs (especially if you went through the etsy and just took the one shown in the listing with no modification), and so just slammed it together and shipped it out.

It IS nice to hear of someone getting their order sooner than expected, though. Just goes to show that the rope can swing both ways.

That being said, it's not the first time I've heard or seen things progress rapidly through etsy. Generally speaking etsy is for onow hand items and the like, but the hilts still need to be assembled and finished before they get shipped out. My theory on why some orders seem to fly out ahead of others is that by coincidence your order matches what someone else had and canceled, so it's already in the build process when you order it, basically. Could be wrong on that, but it makes sense to me, so that's what I go with.

(Also, no this should be in open topics as it is not a review and I will be correcting that right now.)

I ordered mine off Etsy "as pictured" though I upgraded to Hero so I figure I'll just have to sit at the lonely waiting table with everyone else.

I know. I realized probably should have renamed the title after I posted it. Haha

And I plan on editing my post to review the Avenger once I have had some time to handle it for a bit! I'll edit it to a more review-type post (still learning the ropes of the forum as I haven't been a Saber Forge owner for very long. Haha)!

That's pretty cool. The feeling of getting something earlier than the expected arrival date is a great feeling...

You are fortunate indeed, sir! I don't know what circumstances conspired to allow this to happen, but I can only hope it happens again the next time I order a saber!

I ordered 2 off Etsy on Friday and then on Sunday I ordered another 1 from Saber Forge, maybe I will get them all at the same time. I am sure I will be sitting at the lonely waiting table also but it is good to hear that you got it that fast. I am also in Louisiana

It's actually pretty funny because I was in Louisiana for the past 13 years, and I was even born in Bossier City, but now I live in TX because work brought me out here. I'll always be a Louisianian though! Especially when it comes to football (Saints, not LSU), but I don't want to go there because this site is about freaking awesome lightsabers. Haha
