Hey peeps!.. I'm new to the whole lightsaber collecting thing and I was wondering what would be a good saber to start off with? I have movie FX lighsabers of course. But I would like my own. What would be a good one to start off with? Thanks in advance.

Hi there! Welcome to the wonderful world of lightsabers!

Well, it all depends on what you're interested in, and how much you're willing to spend, of course ;)

I started out with a Champion level Redeemer from SaberForge, because the RotS Obi-Wan lightsaber hilt has always been my favorite design, and the Redeemer is a great replica of that saber, much more accurate than the Master Replicas/Hasbro Force FX sabers with their thick necks and bulky designs. I got the Champion level hilt because sound is very important to me, although many people just want light and go with the Warrior edition hilts.

Everyone loves the Gladius. It's the most comfortable dueling saber, it has an elegant design, and is modeled after your starting hilt from the popular Star Wars: The Old Republic video game. The Venomous Fury is also becoming a popular SaberForge hilt. If you're a classic Star Wars fan, then the Prodigal Son based off of Luke's Episode VI hilt is a must.

Hope this helps! Let us know what other questions you have! Enjoy!

What mario said; welcome to the saber world.

again, it really does depend on what you want and what you're willing to pay. After actually purchasing one, I feel like I don't really need sound in any of my sabers, unless I'm going to conventions. I have the epoch, champion edition, but in the future would like to get the resilient, and in the near near future get those saber extensions to turn my saber into a naginata, since I'm more comfy with pole spinning.

take your time choosing a saber out, it's an expensive but worthwhile investment.

Can't really go wrong with the Gladius.

Can't wait for my Gladius to arrive B) personally I think you should go with the one that is calling your name. The lightsaber you believe is just down right awesome you should definitely go for it. With a couple weeks of using it you should be comfy using it. I've chosen the Gladius because to me it was the most beautiful and ideal looking lightsaber I would want. But believe me it won't be the last lightsaber I get ;)
All ways in black or white. Why not grey

Yeah this guy love the Gladius... and I'm right there with him! It's a pretty great hilt, between the solid no-nonsense design and customization options (wrap, weathering, etc). I have two of them, and every day I struggle not to get another haha

I just received my new Resilient Champion Edition and it is reeeeeeeeaallllllly awesome. Not just a little, it is the best. Whichever saber you decide to buy, you won't be able to put it down. It will be your baby, so treat it with the best care even though the steel body makes it really durable. I'm still afraid to drop it because I want it to last as long as possible. Although I haven't seen many people choose to get the Resilient, this saber is more than satisfactory and more than comfortable for dueling. May the Force be with you.

Just a little reminder that this is your opinion, not everyone's opinion! Some people (including me) don't like the Resilient as much as you seem to! That doesn't mean the Resilient is not a nice saber!

That being said, The Masked man is asking for pictures!

Why do people keep posting on old threads! Half the people who posted 3 months ago aren't around today, so they won't see what you have to say!
