I'm not sure whether these pics are what you're looking for but they show Lord Tyranus/Count Dooku with a BLUE BLADE, whilst he was still a Jedi. Unfortunately it is only a graphic novel image but I'll post them here anyway!






The second pic I highlighted so folks could see what I meant, it's his curved Saber with a BLUE BLADE.

The saber in the picture is curved, but you are seeing it from an angle where it appears straight.

What did he do with the saber he wielded as a Knight, then?

I also gotta wonder how using a different crystal could've possibly influenced maneuverability.

I know the hilt is curved, you can also just make out the claw on the emitter.
I highlighted that it was curved in the second version of the picture with arrows in post #32418 below.

This big image shows the blue hilt in more detail. Doesnt really look like the emitter of his red one. It does have the claw though, and you can make out a curve at the bottom so who knows!

Dooku considered himself a great deulist and the curved grip allows the user to alter their grip (either by tightening or loosening it) to give the blade more pivotal manueverability but when you tighten the grip the blade's slashing power becomes more effective. It acquires mechanical advantage as it rotates from the user's grip.Like the slashing claw of a velociraptor.

There is a difference between Jedi sourced crystals and Sith Crystals true, the Sith felt their crystals were superior, but in the technique of handling the saber will also have an impact on it's agility/power. If you don't grip the weapon correctly you cannot direct the effective force of the weapon properly. That was all I was pointing out.

Added Jedi Dooku to the Blue.

Even without the detailing, it can be assumed that it is his well-known curved hilt with a blue blade and a less smooth emitter. A small tweak which usually happens between films.

Also, learning a lot about other sabers whilst doing this, such as the story of Ventress' hilts.

I just have a couple more pics for you, one of Asaj's hilts separated and a pic of General Grievous which some may find interesting. Look at the blue Saber has has in his top right hand (nearest to Kenobi) and it appears to be similar to Obi-Wan's Saber!
