Thanks so much for all the kind words everyone! Don't want to quote the whole thread and double this post, but I've read every comment.

Love the paint job. I'm hoping I can build my painting skills up to that.
Ah, I'm in the middle of rebuilding my first hilt, and the plan is to document the painting process as a tutorial for anyone interested in trying the same weathered look.

Very nicely executed Kouri, your friend will be thrilled.
Ooh, this was actually a build I wrapped up last year - I was just on a tight deadline to complete it and didn't get the chance to document the finished product. Buddy brought it by last weekend so I could diffuse his blade and snap some photos.

I love the way you have melded form and function with the activation box and switches. It has the look that it was purposely designed like that by Starkiller himself.
There's actually a bit of a story to this. After I had finished my personal hilt, I figured I had the process figured out well enough to build sabers for others, and my buddy was willing to be the guinea pig.
He wasn't sure if he wanted a blue or red saber, so I wired the hilt with two quick connects and the RGB LED with three. He'd have the option to plug in any one or two connectors to make any single or mixed color he wanted. Trouble is, he changed colors so often a couple wires broke. Had to come up with a system to change colors without messing with wires.
Made a new clamp from pvc pipe and machined a pvc box at work. I would've preferred a shorter box, but for simplicity and durably, the existing chassis and battery holder had to be retained, so the switches had to sit outside the hilt. Box on the left so the saber is held thumbscrew-up when gripped right below the emitter.
Haven't had any issues since, so it's all good. He got a taste for a bunch of colors, too, and is seriously considering an Arctic Blue Reliant to go with this hilt.
