My newest customized saber. It was originally an ultrasabers hilt, but it has a 12W yellow saberforge LED. It has some custom weathering and a worn looking wrap now. I wanted to go for a saber that an exiled sentinel would use.

Very nice hilt, really fits the theme you were going for. I'm especially a fan of the wrap look it has going on.

Thanks, this was my first attempt at wrapping a hilt. Here's a picture before the wrap.

I think the wrap makes the hilt look a lot better, it gives the saber a lot of personality despite how simple it is :)

You definitely have improved on this hilt. I really like the shape and agree the wrap really makes a difference!

Muns, Nice customising. Can you explain with some detail your method of application with the weathering process? What material is that used for the wrap? it's difficult to see if it's a thin ribbed foam or felt (or neither) over the Body and Switch section.

Thanks! The for the weathering, I brushed some non-primer stove paint on in small amounts, sanded it down a bit with my dremel, and repeated the process until it looked as it does now. And I buffed out areas to give it as close to the original sheen as I could.

The wrap is a simple cotton based fabric I got, and did my best to make it look worn. Then I wrapped and stitched a thick waxed thread around areas of the grip to tighten it down and give it the desired look.

Here's a closer look at the grip wrap.

Thank you. Is that essential the dry-brush technique and did you apply a clear protective coat to prevent it rubbing off/flaking?

More or less, but instead of laying down a coat of paint and dry brushing it off, I used similar strokes to lay the paint on. And I didn't put on a clear coat. The stove paint seems to be very good at not chipping or rubbing off. Especially if you temper it on with some high heat.

Just finished it's counterpart. My first attempt at a shattered finish. Also, I added some copper tones to the grooves and a bit of scoring.

Can you 'esplain' the application of Copper tone? Am interested with doing something similar to the recessed grooves on Archon's Body Shrouds.

I just got a copper tone spray paint, gave it a quick coat, and wiped down the excess paint with acetone and a cloth. Then gave it a clear enamel coat and did the same process.

Just be careful to only wipe off what you want removed. It took me a couple times to get it right.

Some slight modifications, mostly just on the wrap.
