when you don’t wanna settle for just a Goodaxx, what you really want, is to take home a Badaxx.
Sith Badaxx Weathered RRW
“The dark side is about survival. It’s about unleashing your inner power.
It glorifies the strength of the individual.”
“Take what makes you weak and turn it into something that makes you strong.”
― Drew Karpyshyn, Darth Bane: Star Wars 3-Book Bundle: Path of Destruction,
Rule of Two, Dynasty of Evil
This was a rewarding journey, well worth the wait for as several false starts occurred from its Creator. I was tempted to just do another ‘leave-this-here and Spam-it Post’ but excitement needed to be vented. What started from an enquiry in early February was then deferred to late March (anticipating the availability of the next run, announced for commencement in April). This then was deferred again until after May 4th which in-turn became later again (as the run was delayed until July) and come July, seeing reports that this anticipated run sold-out within minutes, the next availability wasn’t to occur until 2017. But I persisted. With successful acceptance acknowledged, I was able to obtain the illustrious curved Hilt Saber (well confirm Order process), born from and influenced after Darth Bane in the SW Universe.
Admittedly, I’ve never had a strong fascination with curved Hilts however remained curiously intrigued. With wanting to get one, in my mind, there was only just the one (sort of, two actually)
that would be mine and now it is mine.
This isn’t my first Saber by Rob (Madcow) of Genesis Custom Sabers (GCS), with it having started with
Custom Ascend that seemed like so long ago.
Here’s a revisit image with Emitter Shroud Removed.

This little diagram illustrates a simple explanation between to the common press-types of metal tubing. What does this have to do with Sabers and its Hilts? The common denominator is still performance. Granted that the measure of airflow is redundant (mostly) where greater benefits are measured in Car Exhaust Systems, minimally (there’s no scientific accuracy to this) I wanna say that it’s plausible that temperature retention & dispersion can benefit here even though most reports will support
that a Tri Cree LED generates minimal heat.
The primary benefit is solidity, strength and rigidness (without additional loose parts) with an even, consistent outer (& inner) diameter as compared to a press-bent tube.
Don’t need this stuff.
There was a Custom build titled: Sith Relic Badaxx that included more bells & whistles and much higher tiered everything specific to electronics. My Sith Badaxx took influences from it, namely without the etching but with keeping the featured Penny Vein powdercoat. At lesser stats by comparison, it certainly doesn’t lessen the appreciation and effectiveness of the build as it remains consistent and exemplifies the high attention to detail that Rob delivers with his Sabers.
Delicately smooth all over, nothing sharp or prone to exposure of cutting (even on the corners). Well machined and finished.
There’s plenty of comfy room to accommodate a two handed grip but there’s a quality about curved hilts that
Force’s you to wield using a different grip that commands more elegance and grace. Unlike gripping a Hilt like you would a hammer (or like batting practice when with two hands), perhaps the nature of curved Hilts is the Gentleman’s Weapon (and I’m no gentle man). En Garde!
It is, truly magnificent.
