when you don’t wanna settle for just a Goodaxx, what you really want, is to take home a Badaxx.

Sith Badaxx Weathered RRW

“The dark side is about survival. It’s about unleashing your inner power.
It glorifies the strength of the individual.”
“Take what makes you weak and turn it into something that makes you strong.”
Drew Karpyshyn, Darth Bane: Star Wars 3-Book Bundle: Path of Destruction,
Rule of Two, Dynasty of Evil

This was a rewarding journey, well worth the wait for as several false starts occurred from its Creator. I was tempted to just do another ‘leave-this-here and Spam-it Post’ but excitement needed to be vented. What started from an enquiry in early February was then deferred to late March (anticipating the availability of the next run, announced for commencement in April). This then was deferred again until after May 4th which in-turn became later again (as the run was delayed until July) and come July, seeing reports that this anticipated run sold-out within minutes, the next availability wasn’t to occur until 2017. But I persisted. With successful acceptance acknowledged, I was able to obtain the illustrious curved Hilt Saber (well confirm Order process), born from and influenced after Darth Bane in the SW Universe.

Admittedly, I’ve never had a strong fascination with curved Hilts however remained curiously intrigued. With wanting to get one, in my mind, there was only just the one (sort of, two actually)
that would be mine and now it is mine.
This isn’t my first Saber by Rob (Madcow) of Genesis Custom Sabers (GCS), with it having started with Custom Ascend that seemed like so long ago.
Here’s a revisit image with Emitter Shroud Removed.

Applying a treatment to the actual supplied Covertech so this is an experimental guinea pig shown.

This little diagram illustrates a simple explanation between to the common press-types of metal tubing. What does this have to do with Sabers and its Hilts? The common denominator is still performance. Granted that the measure of airflow is redundant (mostly) where greater benefits are measured in Car Exhaust Systems, minimally (there’s no scientific accuracy to this) I wanna say that it’s plausible that temperature retention & dispersion can benefit here even though most reports will support
that a Tri Cree LED generates minimal heat.

The primary benefit is solidity, strength and rigidness (without additional loose parts) with an even, consistent outer (& inner) diameter as compared to a press-bent tube.

Don’t need this stuff.

There was a Custom build titled: Sith Relic Badaxx that included more bells & whistles and much higher tiered everything specific to electronics. My Sith Badaxx took influences from it, namely without the etching but with keeping the featured Penny Vein powdercoat. At lesser stats by comparison, it certainly doesn’t lessen the appreciation and effectiveness of the build as it remains consistent and exemplifies the high attention to detail that Rob delivers with his Sabers.

Delicately smooth all over, nothing sharp or prone to exposure of cutting (even on the corners). Well machined and finished.

There’s plenty of comfy room to accommodate a two handed grip but there’s a quality about curved hilts that Force’s you to wield using a different grip that commands more elegance and grace. Unlike gripping a Hilt like you would a hammer (or like batting practice when with two hands), perhaps the nature of curved Hilts is the Gentleman’s Weapon (and I’m no gentle man). En Garde!

It is, truly magnificent.

The textured body finish is extraordinarily remarkable. It’s like a pebble-crete semi-gloss finish similar to the appearance effects of polished concrete. Looking beyond, it’s like the seamless scales of a patterned reptilian. I’m amazed.

The following pic-spam run uses blades: VV standard dual diffused & VV Day: Red, Enhanced Red, Enhanced Amber, Purple, Blue, Green & Photon. Some images were omitted as there was a distinct separation between images and looked like duplicate copies of each other
(noted that some of these will appear that way too).

Thank you if you like what you see. Thank you anyway if you don’t.

Now with the preceding images fresh in your mind, imagine a little more (if you will) the brilliance when responding to the swings, clashes and subtle movements, driven by the wonder of the Font, Unleashed.
The audio isn’t the greatest as it’s recorded from my phone and likely does it no justice as a Font-plug.
If you follow this, venture towards what might sound like a mating ritual of a dark disturbed beast
that is ultimately slain.

Now.. just to get my hands on Ahsoka’s Twin’s from Rebels.
Here’s hoping that SF develop and release Insurgent/Divergent.

Hope you enjoyed the share.

Congratz! I quite like your finish on the hilt's body, it's like a copper type finish on the powder coat. I have seen this hilt on their page advertised many times but it never really clicked, I think your presentation here does it better justice.

Beautiful! Exquisite! Awesome!

Such is the reward for patience, and proof positive that the result can justify the wait.

Congrats sir!

very noice! it looks like there's a quality feel to it. and i think the grip section would look great with some engraving.

that pommel though! there should be a whole series of sabers based on it. i'm thinking something along the lines of an epee, with an ornate hand guard.

congrats!

I like this one because it looks more like an older version of the curved hilts we've seen so far. The detail on this one is nice.

Thank you for pointing out that a curved hilt requires a different grip. That's a detail that someone like me who has never owned a curved hilt can appreciate in future buying decisions. I doubt I will ever own one as pretty as this one, though.

Head down to the hardware store and pick up a piece of 1" 30-degree conduit. Jam a blade in there and you've got an idea of how to handle the hilt. It's neat - the blade basically runs in one continuous line with your forearm.

It's definitely a one handed fighting style, more in line with an Epee or cutlass. Very comfortable grip.

And, that textured finished looks awesome.

Thanks Jas-Ot and Kouri. I think next time I'm headed to the hardware store I'm going to check this out. 1" 30 degrees...got it. Thanks!

So, Dooku basically used the fighting style you would have to use with a curved handled saber. It's going to be a mix between linear fencing and a scimitar/saber/cutlass style of slashing. Not going to see much in the way of spins. It's all about controlling the center line and very fast, precise movements.

That particular type of hilt is centered around dueling another saber wielding opponent.
