I started fiddling with my mpp now that I got some pcb 2.1mm recharge ports to experiment with and I'm must say I'm happy with it, now I don't have to unscrew my pommel to pull a kill key or charge it.
be doing more this weekend, but here's the start.
BTW I couldn't use the bubble card that came with the kit, instead I used a old blastech one I had from a Mpp clamp I got along time ago. I had to sand it down to fit in the clamp meaning it has no movement. which is a plus.

That's way cool! I hadn't really considered how I was going to wire my MPP, but that's a really attractive idea. I take the switch won't be going in the clamp, then?

This already comes with a switch on the upper plate, and I'm using a spark 2 so this should be a quick clean build

I was looking at a similar solution with my own MPP Spark 2 build, can you point me to where to find those recharge ports?

Actually I just found those (I'm in Canada) althought isn't the lower pin a problem with fitting it in there?

I cut them down as short as I could and still solder to them and then put some hot glue on the terminal, and heat shrink it down, I sanded the side with out a pin a little to give a tad more space to tighten the clamp before I did all this, only down side is the bubble card that comes with the kit is small (its small anyway even if not doing what I did and still requires tape/glue) so it didn't even get close to clamping. I just so happened to have a wider blastech bubble card from back when they were in business that I had to sand down so worked perfectly, Had I not had that I would of gotten some thin clear acrylic cut the rectangle I needed and attached the bubble card.

Or I guess you could just fix the bubble card right on the port since it becomes a fixture in this setup anyway.

Overall a good idea, it's what bothered me most about the Graflex, always having to unscrew the bottom part for a recharge. I was even contemplating drilling the pommel but it would've ruin the esthetics a bit. Might get complicated to get to the SD card tho, what's your solution for that?

The Mpp you can just use a 1.24 sled, so when I need to do SD card changes that's when I'll remove the pommel and drop the sled out. if I was using a NBv3 the all in 1 that TCSS sales is prefect, but I just had one done from shapeway for a Spark2.

Since you're leaving it loose, is it the proper length so it doesn't move up and down or are you gonna pad it up, use a c -clamp ring, or something else...?

I'm waiting to see what Goth3d comes up with for it since I'm in no rush, most 7/8" heatsinks are sold everywhere anyway atm...

It retains very well in the chassis on its own, I just used a little 2 sided padded tape on the back to make sure it wasn't moving.

Hey Vechaljian, since you seem to know those ports and I don't, can you help me out identifying which tabs are which?
I know the one in the back is board/battery positive, the bottom and side ones are negative, but which one is battery- and which one is board- ?
