SF PS versus Vader's Vault Hero versus Ultrasabers Archon v3.1

For the price, I think the SF Prodigal Son is hard to beat. The VV Hero is also excellent but it cost almost 35% more than the SF Prodigal Son (Champion Tier).

The blade thickness aspect was not the only part that wasn't apples to apples. If all three of the sabers had blue LEDs, and were all fitted with the same photon blade; I wonder how much noticeable difference in brightness there would be?

Something I did not mention is that the VV Hero Tri-Cree LED is not below the thin neck emitter like they are with the Prodigal Son and Archon v3.1. The VV Hero has its LED in the emitter itself, which is also another reason for added brightness, and why I prefer to opt for the added length on the emitter for blade insertion depth. So the VV Hero's LED is closer to the blade and is without thin neck hindrance. This is a key difference.

Based on my overall experience with Saberforge 12W+ and Vader's Vault Suncrusher (everything else equal), I would say they are about the same brightness. And both brighter than the Ultrasabers Tri-Cree, everything else equal.

I had no idea that the LED was in the actual emitter! Thanks for that!

Oh, I think the "Other Sabers Gallery" section is a better fit for this thread, since it is more of a comparison, rather than a review, and there are competitor sabers prominently featured. So, it will be moved there.

Interestingly, I was looking at the Hero earlier today. Not to buy, I can't afford it, just to look at. B)

Bang for your buck, I find the Prodigal Son hard to beat. I love how screen accurate it is and the price is great. I can't really take the Achon 3.1 seriously, not without some kind of box. But, that's just me. I have as hard a time with that as I do the ones where the thin neck isn't thin.

Anyway, great comparison, thanks a lot.

Great comparison video Execute! Very informative, thank you!

Where did you get the green & red arrows for your Prodigal Son control box? I remember seeing those somewhere before but doing a quick search just now i'm not finding them anywhere......

KR sabers used to offer a PS switch kit that had the arrow leds. The sizing was not the same as the suedo/faux arrows on the SF PS. Unfortunately I can't find the link to that part.

Thanks for watching! As for the arrows, there is an interesting story. I had to send my PS back to to SF RMA and when it returned, SF had the red and green arrows on to my surprise. Love it! :)
