Nothing terribly fancy but I figure if we're showing off our non-Saber Forge sabers I'll throw mine into the mix.
As the title would suggest it is an Ultrasaber Initiate v3 in Violet. I've added O-rings, a Custom Saber Shop pommel with D-ring insert, and red thumbscrew.

Very nice! Those O-Rings are a great idea for the grip. I just ordered a Grab Bag saber from Ultrasabers and I'll keep that in mind of that's the style hilt it get.

Did you make the D-Ring belt clip yourself, or did you buy it from somewhere?

What I want to get from from SaberForge is more than a little out of my price range at the moment. :P (Hero Epoch Yellow saber, or Warrior Viper Purple x2 staff). And there's some new stuff in the works that I don't mind waiting a bit for too.

Thanks, I got the O-rings from Lowes in the plumbing dept. and the thumbscrew, pommel, and D-ring insert for the pommel from The Custom Saber Shop. Just make sure that whatever saber you get is compatable with MHS - the US v2 initiates, aeon, and dominix are not. V3s like mine are. And the Custom Saber Shop MHS parts are v1, they have a smaller v2 that they've just come out with. Don't wanna get the wrong part.

Good luck on your grab bag, only one I ever got was the one hilt I absolutely didn't want... Your luck will be better.
I'm with you on the SF saber. My next one will be but not enough cash right now. I really like the Gladius and Fury but would really like a Prodigal Son in green, it's the most accurate and brightest ROTJ Luke saber I've seen and isn't like $1000.

I have a SaberForge Prodigal Son in 12W green and it is phenomenal!!! If you're a RotJ fan, you definitely need to have one in your collection.

I've got a gladius and can definitely recommend it! I only have (sadly, at the moment..) a warrior edition but even without sound its amazing - the design of it leads to it being really easy to handle with good grips and nothing getting in the way with spinning.

Great to hear people singing the praises of the ones I'm considering. 12w seems the only way to go, they look incredible.
I think I'm going to pass on sound, I only use mine for cons and events where it is typically too noisy for sound to matter and people usually want pics. Pics tend to remain silent. I'd rather spend the extra cash making more props or on an additional saber. It *does feel pretty badass to fire one up and do some spins with sound, though.

My only concern with the Gladius is not being the only one in the room with one. That's a petty concern and it is an amazing saber, which is why other people have em. I have even seen one at a con I attended, didn't get to check it out much but it looks amazing... But it confirmed that in the back of my mind. I want one and I'll get one but I don't think it'll be my main saber for costuming.
The Prodigal Son I only want as a collector's item, it looks just like the on-screen saber (much more so than the US equivalent).

Have any hands-on experience with the Fury? I'm sure they're high quality, I'm just curious as to how it handles and whatnot.
I'm actually considering ordering the SF purple 12W and rechargeable battery pack to go in this Ultrasaber, as well.

I cannot tell you how AMAZING it felt the first time I got a SaberForge saber in the mail that came with sound, I took out the kill key and pressed the ignition button and I basically had the biggest nerdgasm ever. Sometimes if I'm having a bad day I'll take out one of my SaberForge sabers and turn it on, then turn it off, turn it on, then turn it off, JUST to hear the incredible ignition sound erupt from the speakers with a blazing LED shining in my room. To me, the biggest part of a lightsaber replica is turning it on and hearing the iconic sound effects, so I couldn't imagine ever getting a warrior edition that doesn't have sound. But to each his own.

Regarding the Gladius and everyone having one, you may be interested in customizing your hilt with some vinyl designs or other unique modifiers to make it stand out, like what this guy did: Link

As for the Fury, I have one with the old 5W LED and neutrino soundboard, but I'm absolutely in love with the handle design and will definitely be upgrading it to a 12W in the near future. Here's a video review if you're interested: Link

I really do like that Fury, that LED looks just fine but 12w will be awesome. Great review.

Customizing is always an option I consider, and that Gladius looks good. I'll have to give it some consideration, I know I want a Gladius in cyan anyways but I'm also leaning towards my next saber being red. Then again... There's no reason why I couldn't get an additional LED and put quick connectors on it.

Glad the worst of my worries is deciding which saber I want (when I can afford to buy one)
