So bad news. My blade retention knob will not stay in with the plug or blade in. I was doing some 1/4 speed test hits against a wooden bokken. I already sent a message to the powers to be, but kind of disheartening to finally get this and have something that is pretty much a safety measure fail.

You mean the black knob or the actual blade retention screw? The black knob is not meant to be used as the primary blade retention. If you were using it as such, it would overstress it and cause it to strip. :(

I was using the main retention screw for the primary. The black knob just started loosening and then fell out. Now it will not stay in at all with a blade or plug.

Also, the knob still threads, just when the hilt is empty.

Oh I see. Sorry that's happened :( Mine hasn't had that issue (thankfully!) but it may be due to the vibrations... may have caused it to twist/strip in place. Which, if that's the case, it's easy to see why it got overlooked, but at the same time doesn't bode well for the knob's longevity, lol. Well. Hopefully when you hear back from SF, they fix it up for ya, and it gets set right.

Sorry to hear that!

I do understand though. I had a minor problem with my saber as well not long after receipt, but I sent it in and the issue is being rectified. Don't worry...they will make it right my friend. We would all love it if RMAs were unnecessary, but knowing that SaberForge techs are there for you if it is required is a darned good feeling.
