Here is a side by side pic of the Phoenix with my Acolyte. Quite a pair I tell ya. They shipped the longer blade by accident, once I put the 32 inch in the Phoenix from my Acolyte... That is pretty much the perfect balance for this hilt. My only complaint is the black knob which dig into my hand when spinning it, so I need to find a viable replacement to keep from digging into my hand. Otherwise as others state, holding this almost anywhere is quite comfy in hand. I bit more weight to it than the acolyte, but all in all I like both.

Enjoy!

What a gorgeous pair! I'm getting my second saber out of the ASP Kickstarter and I want it to pair as nicely as these!

I'm not sure if there is a color difference on the switch from purple, pink, indigo. I would say that they are, a little more pinkish to be honest, but I assume someone else could confirm.

I believe the lit AV switches are all considered "Violet" for both purple and Indigo... as the accent LEDs are a little more limited in their color abilities.

Beautiful pair of sabers, TD. Love em!

Those look great together. I love the black silver indigo combo! I think I might do that on an Archon. That might make a nice trio for you on that stand.

I'm waiting on the Vengeance, that will complete the collection. Archon doesn't come in polished silver from what I hear, that photo that came out was a one off regarding it's finish.

No, there was enough positive feedback on the archon's polished feedback that Phil decided that would be the standard finish for it. :) Which is really nice, cause it really makes that particular saber really pop and stand out.

Ok, maybe a 4th hilt when the time comes.. But still not going to deter me from the Vengeance. That is on my must have list.

That indigo looks great w/every saber i've seen it with, very nice! Interesting to hear you're anticipating the release of the Vengeance too, there's been quite a bit of buzz about it over the last few days on the Facebook pages (official SF & Custom Saber)

I JUST placed an order for my 3rd saber in the last 6 weeks and I will pause my collection at 3 sabers until later on to see a few upcoming releases I'm interested in drop. The collection may peak and plateau at 5 or 6.

Is your retention screw station in place? Mine isn't. Much easier to wield without though. I've been considering just adhering the shroud to the body.

That screw is probably the only real flaw to the design in my opinion. It's find with mine, but my biggest gripe is how it digs into the hand when your spinning it around.

Saw an interesting way to deal with it the other day... someone took a rounded smooth LED cap off of something else and put it in where the black knob was, making a nice, smooth little nudge, and adhered the shroud itself to the hilt with gorilla glue. Not sure if you'd want to take the "this is never coming off" approach to the shroud, but if so, sounds like a neat idea to me. :) They even had the little rounded cap thing clear, so it lit up when the blade was on, looked pretty awesome. I've no idea where they got it tho..

I think I know what you're trying to describe in the clear cap.
I remove the shroud retention knob all the time. The light coming through with the blade on is kind of cool. Way easier to wield with the screw gone as well. Functionality returns. I find the shroud still doesn't slide or shift around much at all. However, I still want to do some things to mine before I adhere the shroud to the body permanently.

These sabers are beautiful. Something about the indigo is so intriguing. Its not really purple, but not blue either. In person do these look more blue or purple than the photos? I'm not really a fan of purple but I can see myself ordering a saber with this color.

TD's pictures are perhaps the best, true-to-life pics of the Indigo I've ever seen. It's really a case of what you see there is what you get.

This one is probably the most accurate of the photo's regarding Indigo.

When your up close the blue is more dominant and then it shifts as you get to the top with the addition of the red coming in. It's worth noting as I've noticed viewing in a mirror from various distances, the further back you view these... the more they have a solid look to the blade as opposed to the two tone color up close.

As for the photography of these in general. I use the Nikon D750 DSLR with a 50mm prime lens in conjunction with camranger to better dial in the manual settings.

One final note on the Phoenix, is that it maybe comfortable to hold but NOT swinging and spinning it whatsoever.

Having some time with it tonight, I'm really not liking how the black sides of the emitter is not flush with the aluminum. In all honesty, that's more of a design flaw on a practical side... Let alone the issue with the thumb screw. As much as it's nice to look at, it's a shame I'm going to have to find someone interested in buying it so I can get something I can use comfortabally.

Hunnymoon is over with this design and it's more of a piece to sit on a stand as a collection or casual cosplay. Any serious use will eat up your hand unless your wearing gloves. And I don't intend to wear any gloves with my hilts going forward.
