Hello everyone! Welcome to my first review! B)

First, some images taken on my phone!:

Alright! On with the review! I'm going to use h2soy's "Duelability" rating scale because I think it's a very good rating system. In addition, I'll give my own review of the aesthetics.

Balance: 4
Comfort: 3/4
Versatility: 3
Precision: 3
Power: 3
Grip: Mainly 1 handed
Blade Length: 26”/32"
Notes: While certainly a lot more comfortable than it looks, this saber is definitely not the most comfortable saber for spins or dueling. The lower grip section is relatively comfortable to hold. No sharp edges, nothing that makes it feel large or unwieldy. However the upper grip section, while not totally uncomfortable, is a little awkward to hold. I have large hands (I'm 6'4" tall), so it's not difficult for me to find a relatively comfortable position. However someone with smaller hands would find it difficult to get a good, comfortable grip. Again, no sharp edges, nothing that makes me want to wear gloves or anything. Just awkward.

The 32" blade I ordered feels very balanced for a more tradition 2-handed dueling style, but the 26" blade would definitely feel better in a single-handed Makashi or Jar'kai style. While I haven't done any dueling with the saber yet, I feel like it would be average in both power and precision due to the relative awkwardness of the saber design. Still, I know I'd be able to wield the saber effectively once I found the right style for the hilt.

Aesthetically, this saber is GORGEOUS! Elegant, yet aggressive. Paired with the 12W+ Indigo LED, this saber has garnered more attention than any of my other sabers! In person, the LED is a little more blue at the bottom, and a little more red at the top. I know the scientific reason why this happens, and it doesn't bother me, but I just thought I'd mention it. You can see how amazing it looks in pictures though! It's a very deep purple that can either be used by a Jedi or Sith.

I can't quite put it into words (and the images really don't do the hilt justice) but take my word for it: this saber ROCKS! Revan would be proud to wield this blade. Thanks to SaberForge for making such an amazing product!

It really does look phenomenal. Excellent review. I'm considering using that body on my ASP saber, so I wonder how it'll feel with the switch/upper body.

Tremendous looking saber. Top to bottom it's exquisite.
What do you find to be the best grip position, with your palm on the rail or spanning the smooth section?

I'm glad you like it, it's an unique hilt.

My 2 cents: the rail is surprisingly ergonomic to grip.

Hmmm... I've never actually thought about it while I'm spinning the saber, but the lower part of the grip is very comfortable to hold. I don't have the saber nearby right now, but if I had to make a guess I'd say one of the "spines" of the grip would be toward the top middle of my palm just below the first knuckles. I'll double-check when I get home later.

Overall, it's probably my favorite saber that I currently own in terms of appearance. We'll see how long that lasts though, my next saber will probably be a Redeemer.

Congrats CulinaryJedi; it's a truly beautiful saber.
I just have one question, is the extrusion in between the claw-like pieces by the emitter akin to a blade plug? Does it function in the same way? Upon closer inspection of your pictures, it does appear that it is a blade plug of sorts, but is it removable or do you attach the blade over it? If the blade attaches over it, does it cast awkward shadows? From the pictures it doesn't seem so, but again, pictures can't capture the true colors and brightness of a saber.
But great hilt, and I admire your Revan collection.

Thanks! Yeah, that piece is a a blade plug. It is removable just like all the other blade plugs.

No problem!

Also I finally got around to checking where the spines sit in my hand while I'm gripping the saber. For both the upper and lower grip, one of the spines is directly on/beneath the middle knuckle on both hands. Kinda hard to describe without pictures I guess haha. I'll try to get some pictures up ASAP. It's gotten more comfortable the more I've tried spinning it, so that's good news!

Did you make the wall mounts for your sabers yourself?

Nope, I ordered them online. I got them from saber-stand.com. I have four of them and I'm really happy with them.

I was going to go purple but I see a lot of people seem to prefer indigo over purple. Is indigo better in your opinion? Does purple not look so great? How much bluer is indigo vs purple?

I wouldn't say Indigo is "better" than Purple, just different. Indigo has a lot more blue in it and almost appears blue in person, especially near the emitter. On camera, as far as I've seen, it appears closer to a dark purple.

The Purple LED is more evenly colored than the Indigo, but appears kinda Pink in person. On camera it looks very similar to Mace Windu's saber from the prequels.

They're different, but they're both very nice. I have both LEDs, and I personally prefer the Indigo for the Reborn, but it's all up to opinion.

Thought I'd post a picture showing the difference between the Purple and Indigo LEDs, as shown by the camera on my phone:

Color Comparison

It's a little hard to tell on camera, to be honest. The left saber is Purple 12W and the right saber is Indigo 12W+. On camera, the Purple looks slightly brighter than the Indigo due to the difference in color. In person, the Indigo is slightly brighter despite being a darker color. Purple is pretty close to the color flare near the emitter. Indigo is closer to the bluish color surrounding the pinkish color.

It's really hard to capture this on camera... but trust me they're both beautiful colors!
