Grabbed a quick video of some Free Form Saber play in the back yard. Nothing choreographed, just some light practice work. This is mainly combat oriented forms, with some flourishes for style.

This is just a minute long snippet. Enjoy.

This is with a full 37" heavy grade blade.

I must direct this to the Saber Combat Gallery. If an admin could send it there...please...

@Jas-Ot, I'm kind of the biggest Saber Combat Category rep there is around here anymore. This definitely deserves to be in there, my friend. :)

I've been practicing most nights for a while. I'm very rusty though. I did some weapons training when I was much younger, staff and sword mainly. Most of my practices are for combat techniques, although adding in the various spins and blossoms adds for variety and frankly just looks really cool with a saber. A shorter blade 24-32" would make for easier and more concentric spins and some "cooler" tricks. but that's not really a style I practice.

I have attended classes before when I was only six years old. From what I recall, it took a lot of practice to be real smooth. I can tell from your swings that either you just practiced lots recently and or you had training before. The coordination of movements look smooth. The harder part for me is to pick up speed as one can get tired easily.
