Help! The wire leading to the resistor on my led broke! How do I remove the heatshrink? I got a soldering iron for father's day so I might as well attempt to repair it myself.

And I might as well ask, how do I remove the insulation from the soundboard/battery pack? Thinking of installing a recharge port as well.

I just use a very very small pair of wire snips and cut around (the key word being "around") the shrink and any resistors that are in the way.

I can't speak to the battery and I stay away from messing with them. :-)

thanks, hotrod. i've since discovered that there is no magic way to remove heatshrink other than cutting into it. i remember from reading here somewhere that heat can be applied to the black gunk covering the soundboard but can't seem to find the post. anyhoo, i'll cross that bridge when my recharge ports arrive.

Good Luck! The putty can be a pain but I too have found a heat gun helps. My go to is definitely just cutting away at it. Let us know how it goes.
