So, I got an empty oracle hilt awhile back, with a specific idea in mind. I'm doing some custom weathering and a few add-ons, and going for an ancient relic feel. Got the first bit of pre-weathering done and added some copper rings. I'll continue posting updates as I move forward.

It's actually a pretty simple process. After I sanded it and roughed it up a bit, I lightly misted it with some automotive spraypaint. First with a black, then I very quickly wiped the excess off with a wet towel, leaving the paint only in the imperfections in the metal. Then I repeated the process with a bronze/gold tone metallic paint. Hope this helps

Thanks! I thought it might be paint, but it also looked like rock and chemical weathering forum member raidendex did to his ASP saber.

Thanks! I just used a cheap Dremel and tried to duplicate things I've seen, with my own touch. Afterward add some black paint into the indented areas to make it pop.

Aaaand... done. Almost. I accidentally ordered a momentary switch instead of latching for this one, so I have to hold the button for the blade to light. I may upgrade with sound down the road, but for now (other than a quick button replace) it's complete.

That turned out great! Is that a SF white LED? It fits well with the hilt.

Wow that looks amazing! Job very well done on it. I'm not sure which color I like better either.

Well Done Muns! From start to finish, it has turned out really good. As weathering Finishes go, I actually prefer the treatment you have given it over the SF V2. As for LED, I'm favouring White more than the recently pictured Green. Since you showed us Sentinel's Supplication, looks like you have gained a dramatic increase in XP.

Thanks! And yeah I've learned quite a few tricks since my first attempt at weathering. I'm hoping with a bit more practice and perhaps enough good review, I'll start offering my services to the saber community.
