Just got my Warrior tier
Arbiter back from repair (thank you Jas-Ot) and decided to spiff it up a bit. I had one too many "plain and clean" sabers anyway. I ordered some
Rub n' Buff in various colors (
Antique Gold,
Autumn Gold,
Spanish Copper) after seeing it mentioned on a post here. It didn't come out
quite as I anticipated, but I like it.
I think I'll call it a "Temple relic". I'd like to think it was found in the ruins of the Jedi Temple on Dantooine.
It was originally a Dual Tone finish, and I used
Autumn Gold on the bare aluminum and
Antique Gold on the black anodized areas (as well as the switch and switch cover). In hindsight, I should have roughed up the aluminum a bit to get it to adhere better. It went on
much nicer on the anodized sections. There's a few bare spots where the Autumn Gold just doesn't want to stick for whatever reason, but it just adds to the "old and worn" look.
Then I wrapped the grip section with a black tennis racket grip tape to top it off. I need to find some other thin electric tape to use instead of the logo'd one that came with the wrap. Once I get a tiny paint brush I'm going take the Spanish Copper Rub n' Buff (a dark brown) to the gaps in the upper ringed section to add little touch of "dirt" to it and cover up the Autumn Gold that got in there.
I still can't get over how ridiculously bright the 6w Green is.
Almost scared to ever order one in 12w...
Turns out it actually is 12w. Green is BLINDING.
