Just got my Warrior tier Arbiter back from repair (thank you Jas-Ot) and decided to spiff it up a bit. I had one too many "plain and clean" sabers anyway. I ordered some Rub n' Buff in various colors (Antique Gold, Autumn Gold, Spanish Copper) after seeing it mentioned on a post here. It didn't come out quite as I anticipated, but I like it.

I think I'll call it a "Temple relic". I'd like to think it was found in the ruins of the Jedi Temple on Dantooine. :)

It was originally a Dual Tone finish, and I used Autumn Gold on the bare aluminum and Antique Gold on the black anodized areas (as well as the switch and switch cover). In hindsight, I should have roughed up the aluminum a bit to get it to adhere better. It went on much nicer on the anodized sections. There's a few bare spots where the Autumn Gold just doesn't want to stick for whatever reason, but it just adds to the "old and worn" look.

Then I wrapped the grip section with a black tennis racket grip tape to top it off. I need to find some other thin electric tape to use instead of the logo'd one that came with the wrap. Once I get a tiny paint brush I'm going take the Spanish Copper Rub n' Buff (a dark brown) to the gaps in the upper ringed section to add little touch of "dirt" to it and cover up the Autumn Gold that got in there.

I still can't get over how ridiculously bright the 6w Green is.
Almost scared to ever order one in 12w...

Turns out it actually is 12w. Green is BLINDING.

Hi All,

This was the first picture I took of my Disciple when it arrived. I live on the top floor of a tower block and the pic was taken at 12 midday (sunny weather outside) and I hadn't charged it yet, this was the travel charge.

Then after a full charge and at around 5pm..

And this is an OLD 12W not the new 12W+, I'd say go for a 12W+ Green.

BTW, I could swear when I checked the LED wiring that had 4 dice on the star. You sure it's not a 12w?

Oh, nice... it is. Just shined a flashlight down the emitter so I could see.

The eBay listing had said 6w and I didn't really look at it much besides noticing the crimp in the wire.

Looks awesome! Has a great old Republic feel! The rub n buff is interesting to work with but really looks great in the end. Gotta love the green.

Thanks! The Rub n' Buff didn't behave like I thought it would. It didn't go on as nicely as it did on the extra coupler that I used to test it. I definitely need to go back in with the dark brown (spanish copper) to give it more of an aged look.

Added some more detailing using the Spanish Copper Rub n' Buff as "dirt".
Now it looks more like it was pulled out of the rubble of an ancient Temple. :)

PHOTO NOW IN OP, since photobucket links all broke

That thing looks awesome Kellborn. That saber makes me think and feel as if you have found the old temple on Tython and that saber belonged to one of the old masters.

Thanks! It definitely evokes a bit of a Tythonian feel, doesn't it?

More better pics of my sabers! This thing is just so wonderfully dirty looking. Just too bad there's not really a good way to seal Rub n' Buff, as it has a tendency to contact transfer when you put it on as thick as I did.

SEE OP FOR UPDATED PICS

Organized my Photobucket better, so links all broke. Early pics were crap so just trashed them and put the new ones in the OP.
