I picked up this older generation Venom a while ago, with the intention of making a stunt saber (no sound) out of it. It was preloaded with a Hasbro soundboard and LED, and it was both dim and too muted. So I gutted it, polished it slightly removing the blackening at the hilt's waist, and rebuilt the innards.
I used a SF 12watt amber/amber LED unit, a purple 12mm momentary AV switch, a momentary-to-latching converter, and powered it with an 18650. I didn't add an in-hilt recharge port to keep the lines of the saber nice and clean. I thought about adding a covertec, but I thought that this would also detract from the clean lines of the hilt.

The amber is quite beautiful, and possibly my favorite saber color currently.
