Hey all, so I recently built two lightsabers out of PVC pipe. I used 12W LED's for both, and I have included a picture of me with the two lightsabers. They were a graduation gift for my friend, and before I had given them to him, I would only have the lightsabers on for maybe a minute or two before turning them off. When I gave them to my friend, he wanted to duel with them. We went back and forth for several minutes, when the blue lightsaber went out. Upon inspecting the lightsaber, the bottom of the blade was tacky, and there was plastic residue on the LED.
Does anyone know a way to heatsink 12W LED's when building a PVC saber?
Thanks in advance!

These look awesome, and I will definitely consider these for future builds.
However, I don't think they will work for these current sabers.
The hilts are 1" PVC, with 1 1/4" PVC shrouds, so the heat sink tubes will not fit.
Here is a video of the lightsabers, so you can get a better view:
I was thinking of taking copper pipe, and inserting it into the inside of the hilt, such that it touches the base of the LED module. That way, when the LED module gets hot, the heat will be conducted down the copper pipe into the rest of the hilt, and hopefully keep the LED module cool enough to prevent the blades from melting.
Forgive me, I am still new to the rules of the forum. Are we allowed to say where we purchased our LED modules and blades?
