Hello good people. .so I dropped my scorpion and after crying for a bit. ...this pic shows the damage around the emitter. .it's not terrible but would like to fix it or conceal it. .any suggestions? Any sand paper for metal? Sorry I'm ignorant on this. .. my other option is to embrace it and commission someone in the future to make the hilt weathered/shattered look I guess..

As a Scorpion owner, I would tell you to leave it. You could definitely pick up some different grain sandpaper and work it carefully so you don't warp the round edge too much, and then polish it. It will still have divits at the edges, though.

With how large the hilt is, the ding is probably only going to be really noticeable to you. Builds personality for the saber, in a way.

Madcow has a video on YouTube on how to fix scratches but that is more of a chip so I don't know if that will help. I like weathering on hilts - that thing would be a beast with some shattered weathering and an unstable blade sound font. good luck...

Would you recommend steel wool to smooth out sharp edges on sabers as well?

Use a planisher to blend over the metal.

Unlike sandpaper or stuff that removes material to create a smoother surface, a planisher is a smooth polished blade that moves metal around on the surface, smoothing down the high points into the low points to reduce those 'dings' without actually removing metal.

If you can't find a planisher, the polished shank of a screwdriver blade will probably work, 'rub' the metal back into place as much as possible!
Any idiot can squeeze a trigger....
It takes a special kind of idiot to use a saber.
