So I own a Master Replicas Darth Maul saber, the "battle damaged" version with the revealed crystal pommel, that I had refurbished by another sabersmith and after discovering Saberforge's weathered option for some of their hilts I was thinking that it would be cool to have this done to my Maul (after all it is supposed to be battle damaged) and I was wondering did anyone here on the forums do or know somebody who does weathering work or could anyone offer any tips on how to do this myself? It'd be great if I could get the professionals at Saberforge to do it but I'm sure they don't do things like that, but I still would like to have this done regardless.

My idea of weathering a Saber is throwing it around in the mud... So I'm not much help unfortunately.
Bowties are cool... And so are Lightsabers!

There are some way to get weathering.
Paint the hilt with black spray, then scratch out by using thinner.
Apply thinned black enamel and toast by candle for smoke stain.
The way SF doing is maybe that apply black powder coating then scratch it out by using dremels.
It require some Facilities.

I have used aluminum sand paper to take off weathering before, maybe by try coating it in an anodized spray paint and then use the aluminum sand paper after it dries to scratch at it giving it a weathered look? Could always try and find a good metal smith to try for you as well.
