Hello!

I would like to do some basic sanding of some areas of my Gladiator emitter. I don't want to break anything, so before I attempt dismantling it, I'd like to ask first how I should do it. I noticed a retention screw below the one for the blade, do I need to unscrew this one, or is it there only for the LED module?
And actually, can it even be dismantled?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

May the Force ever serve you.

You shouldn't need to disassemble it just to do some sanding.

But if you really want to, here's how to go about it:

First, you would need to break the seal of the glue that is used to lock the threads. Either a lot of elbow grease, or apply heat (hair dryer, heat gun) to loosen the glue.

Second, you need to know what parts are what. See the below diagram.

Purple = Pommel, Yellow = Body, Red = Switch, Blue = Emitter, Orange = Emitter Flange

The emitter flange screws onto the top of the emitter. And yes, the second retention screw is for the LED. You will need to loosen it if you are removing the emitter so you don't twist the wires while unscrewing.

Thanks Kelborn, I appreciate.

The reason why I would like to dismantle the emitter, is I am a bit worried about paint/metal powder seeping inside the hilt while I sand.

Hmm, I'm a bit worried trying to unscrew it, if it's glued - I fear damaging something!

Just put some tape over the crystal chamber, and leave the kill key and blade plug in and you should be fine on dust.

Hah, alas, the blade plug will get a tiny bit in the way :p
I guess I could just tape the inside of the emitter, so the LED module is protected.
