Well the Empty arrived today, Its been along wait to this point and its very solid, made out of cast chromed steel, SO here is the beginning of what I consider My unicorn of sabers. it will be all 7/8 chassis, NBV4, 20mm bass speaker, I need to figure out the RCP and switch.

Hi Vechaljian,

I'm not sure how that hilt is put together but is there a possibility of a tactile switch under the red trigger part so you activate the saber by tightehing your Pinkie finger on the trigger? (Would look like you activated it by the Force then!)

For Tyeth

(Not sure about the RCP placement though. Congrats on getting a nice hilt)

I'm gonna just have to remove the pommel to pull the kill key, its a single allen, the sleep mode on the Nano's works well and I'm gonna put one of those fancy new 10a high drain 3200mah in it, as far as the switch im gonna try to make the red trigger function for it, if that doesn't work out I'll but it behind round joint pin, but I am confident I can make the red trigger work. led, batter, and Sound card will be up in the main body, speaker, Switch and RCP will be in lower section. I plan on using micro jst connectors I have 5,6,7 pin versions, one of those will work. between the main body and lower section, just to keep them modular for service.

Worked on switch today, drilling through the chrome is not easy, good thing my bit are sharp and I have the right oil and patience, sorry about the mess on my desk. Red section is gonna work fine, I will use some better glue wise on the 3m tape on final assembly, and I used a long tactile switch so I can glue that to the red trigger. but mock up wise works great.

Fully assembled back section. (temporary 3m tape used to hold trigger.)

Used 2 1 inch TCSS switch holders, cut one down to 7/8, had left over pieces from the DM1 to act as spacer

Making sure RCP fit with switch installed

Body side of lower section.

Hi Vechaljian,

Wow I can't believe an idea I suggested might work! That don't happen often.
It all looks nice and neat so far!

I'm gonna be watching this build all the way till the end,

Awesome,

I'll pay attention to get in on the next run of these, or maybe SF will release their version.

I still plan to get SF version for Dueling, this will be functional, but I just don't see myself dueling it, it was a 2013-2014 run and I got lucky on EBay. None the less its gorgeous. if/when Korbanth does another run all I can see is a less complicated better version of it... these early version are a lot more end user involved, but all my years of Saber Smith building prepared me.

This is a thing of beauty right here, I definitely wouldn't duel with it. You're doing outstanding work, building on a level I don't think I'll ever achieve, but I certainly appreciate you all who do it and share it on the web. It's great inspiration for us aspiring saber builders. :cheer:

So I lied, I'm now completed with the body of this saber, now waiting LED heatsink to make the module
(which will be Deep red, red- main, white a FOC) to be done, but got body section done, sound fired up and working, switch tested worked pristine, and used a 1 inch pre wired led module to test (green/red). I also set up sound fonts so that all 3 banks of NBv4 are Dooku fonts. Only thing I wish is the 20mm bass speaker could be louder, but it is what it is (I may do some mods to pommel to open for sound)...Still hearing it makes me proud :) EDIT note: after Drilling out the pommel holes from 1/16 to a tad under 1/8 the sound is as loud as it can be for the 20mm speaker... no venting restriction issues exist anymore.

Hi Vechaljian,

I am loving this build diary! That is a super clean install, you must really measure twice and cut once!

You should be proud.
